New to RV and Dogs - Tif and Rosie

Postby Securit24 » Tue Aug 27, 2013 1:11 pm

Some pics of my two girls Tif and Rosie... They are young and a handful!

They both enjoy riding in the RV but do have anxiety when we arrive at new locations. Rosie is sweet and hyper. Tif is intense but lovable.

I always worry about going anywhere with Tif due to some dog aggression issues that she has. We are working on it. I've taken her to the dog park and she will be fine unless approached by an aggressive dog, a unfixed male or if she is just tired.

I've read that a lot of you have the same issues with irresponsible dog owners that allow their dogs to roam the cg or rvp. I've had to speak harshly to other dog owners that don't restrain their dog.

People...they love people!!

They are beautiful. It is difficult when you have to protect them from the irresponsible owners and dogs. Because you know who will be blamed and for dogs sometimes it only takes a look.....the dogs see it and we sometimes don't. :?

Have you had to plan carefully about where to stay and which campgrounds will allow you in?

Enjoy your travels.

**WOO HOO!!!**

!!YEAH!!

BULLIES! BULLIES! BULLIES! [Anne does her crazy happy dance]

Which flavor of bully are they? I have had Staffordshire Bull Terriers for the last 25 years, and they are the very best people dogs that God ever made. Previous to Staffords was the Love Of My Life, the best dog that ever lived, my UKC-registered APBT. What a girl. . . what a friend. . . what a protector. . . what memories. . .what heartbreak.

Do you know the song "Mr. Bojangles"? There is a line there that "his dog up and died, he up and died. . . and after 20 years he still grieved, that was Bo Jangles. . ." That was/is me too. Been gone almost 30 years now, she has. And I still can't speak of her without misting...

I think it is totally awesome that Obama has recently come out against BSL. There is hope and joy in the world after all!!

I am very new to the forum myself, but I give you a big BULLY welcome!

Every campground I worked in would not allow Pits and some other breeds. Bad raps for such sweet dogs IF raised right. The only that ever made me nervous about them was if the person holding the leash didn't look like they had any control cause they're strong little guys. I had some problems with little, aggressive dogs lunging at my two big Labs.

Hi guys. I to will be hitting the road with out pets early next year. I am also a member of the "can't believe I had time to work club." :D We have a white husky mix with one blue and one amber eye. She has always been our good will charm because she never meets a stranger and gets along so far with other dogs. The other baby is a 11 year doxy who thinks he can rule the world, all nine pounds of him. He will be the one to hang onto until we know his disposition on the road. As said, responsible humans is the key for harmony as well as discipline. Looking forward to meeting other dog lovers on the road.

YEAH! Love the bullies too, once were considered the perfect family dog, but unfortunately being in the wrong hands, got a bad rap. A lot of organizations are working in trying to change that. Good owners = good dogs, regardless of the breed. I think its sad that some places don't allow them, but are they doing much on the ones that are free to roam? To me, that should be more the focus. Anyway, beautiful girls, if you want a boy to add, I know one that would probably love camping.

Thanks but "no" for the boy - I have cats in the house, so currently the inn doesn't have any vacancies. Any more animals and I will go cleaning crazy!

Thanks for the kind words. I do my best to keep them totally under control but like any dog owner knows..sometimes they can be unpredictable.

Just like us!

Great pics of your babies! I can see that they are not spoiled, or anything! And I wish to take this time to welcome you to the group, as lately I just haven't had the time to go to the intro room and welcome newbies......nice to meet you and hope to meet you and your 4-footers down the roads!

Adding another welcome. Like Soos, I've fallen way behind on welcoming new members.
Good photos of the fur babies too.

We've encountered a couple of places on this MI trip with dogs running loose. Most parks have leash rule but I'm finding many make no effort to enforce the rule.
