Carol it is so amazing what our four-footers can teach us humans about self-pity, isn't it? And their ability to adapt to adversity surpasses anything us humans can even imagine. Maggie will do just as fine as she has for a long time now, and, when your brain gets around the facts the vet told you, so will you! After all, life for Maggie hasn't changed one iota from yesterday, and, apparently, from a lot of yesterdays! Seeing eye services and dogs and humans have been a combination for years and years now, and it is such a wonderful relationship!

Just finally saw this thread and like some of the others got scared - then a big sigh of relief. So sorry Maggie is going or almost is blind, but so glad that her health is good otherwise and she's ready to head to AK with you. As long as she's with you, she'll not mind this. I have a feeling, if she's "almost" blind now, she's been getting used to it for a long time. Now, CArol, it's your time to do the same. You are the best seeing-eyed Mom she can have

Peaches sends hugs. Normally the bed is off limit to her during the day, but I forgot to put the bolster there and she's up there sleeping away. They know ... yep, they know.
