claw caps

Postby BarbaraRose » Thu Mar 08, 2012 2:57 pm

Just wondering if any of you who have/had cats, have ever used the claw caps? Lola clawed a hole in the window screen to get outside and I need to replace the screen but I know she will do it again as soon as I open the window. I am wondering how well those caps work and if they stay on well. They cost quite a bit so I don't want to spend the money if they won't work.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

one of the girls at work keeps those caps on her cats claws. She said one set lasts about 3 months and then she replaces them.
She swears by them for saving her stuff the cat would otherwise sharpen his/her (can't remember) claws on. They just love their
cat so much but don't believe in declawing (neither do I). Can't remember what they cost but she thought it was a necessity to
spend the money on. They stick on like fake nails with a glue like super glue.

I saw some of those at Petsmart and was wondering if they worked too. I thought a cat would try to chew them off but don't know. I put up a new cat tree a month ago and they have already shredded some of the carpet on it.

Thanks Ava. I was reading some reviews on-line and most were very favorable. I am going to pick up a set of them tomorrow and give them a try. Just have to decide what color to get!

I like red, but thought that might look like her feet are bleeding. PetCo only had the clear ones tho. I got them, but now I may not need to use them.
I stopped at Home Depot to get some materials to fix my window screen and found a roll of pet-proof screening material, so I bought that, and if that is tough enough to withstand her claws, I won't need the claw caps (she doesn't use her claws on the furniture at all). Will be fixing the screen tomorrow, so will see how it goes.
