My Recliner

Of all the hundreds of things that I should have done today...I decided to put together the recliner and ottoman that I bought! So I put the box in the driveway and took all the pieces out and put them in the 5er..grabbed a can of diet coke and went to work. It went together without a hitch....ten screws and I was done (DH was giving me guff about another one of my "easy to assemble" projects that he would end up doing) I'm pretty pleased with it.

Great job - and nice looking recliner.

I grew up in a family where if my dad even attempted to put something together, we knew it would be broke before it got assembled. He was the rare man that admitted he shouldn't touch anything "to be assembled" and left all that to my mom - so I always have been amazed when most of the men in my life always give me the kind of talk your dh did. Pat yourself on the back and just smile at him.

I do alright on things made of metal...like bikes, grills, patio sets, futons... It's the wood stuff that gives me fits. Sometimes just an extra set of hands would help. I tried a oak file cabinet....was just about ready to turn it into firewood before I cried "uncle" and made DH finish it.

I bought it at Shopko and the brand name is Coaster. Shopko's everyday price is 239. but they were on sale for 50% off and with my savers card I ended up paying 110. The microfiber cover comes in cider or dark chocolate. It also comes in a faux leather available in bone, burgundy and black and they were on sale for 88.88. Could have saved a few more bucks but I really don't like the feel of faux leather in the summer and I was a little worried about Radar puncturing it with her nails. My neighbor's son had one in his dorm room last year and I figure if it can hold up to dormitory full of college boys for one year it should last us for quite awhile. :D
