Nice camper! When DH and I got married about 26 years ago he had a 12 1/2 ft camper and an older tri-hull boat...we also had a blended family of 5 teenagers. We would get to the river, the back door would open and any where from 5-9 teenagers (ours plus various nieces, nephews, friends) plus 2 dogs would tumble out. Folks would just shake their head. Kids would proceed to set up their beds in their desired spot, I would set up the kitchen on a couple of picnic tables (think that was the main reason he married me, I could make biscuits and gravy and cakes on a camp stove) and then we'd go skiing. Then we would be sitting in camp and this big ol' fancy rv with a new boat would pull up and 2 old people and a poodle would get out. 15 years later, that was us, (altho it was a german shepherd, not a poodle) but to be truthful, we had more fun with the camper and the kids!

If I ever make it back to Alaska I'd think seriously about throwing a used camper on the truck instead of taking Hope. Altho I'd sure miss how comfortable she is!

Thanks Vicki,

Nothing fancy, no slide outs.
Just the 2 of us, and 2 cats.
It fits in the truck bed with no overhange so we can go any place the pickup can go, just have to remember the height of the camper.

So nice, Charlene! We looked at Bigfoot truck campers when we first started looking for an RV when we lived in Alaska.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your time in it! Thanks for sharing.
AND you did good at posting pictures!! Yay, you!

Hi,

I like truck campers. It haves everything you need.

I have a 5th, but would love to own a truck camper for quick get aways and do the Alaska Highways trip.

Thanks, you can't believe how many people say that!

On the East Coast you do not see that many truck campers, and when we are in a campsite, and invite our neighbors in, after seeing it from the outside, they can't believe how roomy it is inside.

Charlene,

Love your truck camper. I've always been partial to them. Thought of having one at one time and haven't thrown it out yet.

Now lets see, you are heading south for an extended stay and aren't sure if the camper will work. I have an 18ft Rockwood with a new truck. How about we switch, your camper/truck for my truck/trailer and the truck loan payments

Enjoy it.

Colliemom,

You know, going back to about 2006, and not having a RV for a couple of years, we lost our last vehicle that could tow 5000lbs, a Jeep Cherokee. At the time we were looking to buy a Casita(egg), but both of us had enought of towing things!

We saw a truck camper one day in a Walmart parking lot, and said this would be perfect!

It took us a year to find the perfect truck, and camper. The internet is wonderful, the truck and camper cost together $ 24,000 bucks! What a deal, we've had them for over 2 years now, and have had a ball!

Do you have a fridge and dinette in there? A TV? When you stay somewhere, do you take the camper off? Is that hard to do? Might be an option for me down the road...Hmmm....

Ava, I reread your post, and signature about Bandit, I understand what you are going thru.

I had to do one of the hardest things in my life out of love!

We had a 13 year old German Sheperd, that had breast cancer, and lost the use of her rear legs.

Couldn't wait anymore, and it was over the beginning of October.

I miss her every day.

Hi Barbara,

The camper is self contained, it has a roof A/C, a propane forced hot air furnace, microwave, stove/oven, small toaster oven, a full bath/shower, outside shower, a 3-way fridge, black, grey, fresh water, holding tanks, hot water heater, house battery, and everything runs on 12volts except the A/C,

And if the shore power goes out at the campground, or if we boondock, we have a Honda EU2000 gen-set, that runs the whole camper!

Forgot to mention that it has a dinette, and a 20" HDTV. We only take the camper off if we are staying for a substantial period of time.
