Most of the things that have to be taken out of Kit have been taken out. Not all, but most.



I commandeered some manpower to remove the screws I couldn't budge. (Good son! ) It's amazing how frozen nuts and bolts get in 20 or 30 years!



Stripping Kit has some interesting surprises. Look what we found in the stove vent!



At least they were already dead!

Full of surprises. This is an adventure of its own.

Louise, check for mud dauber nests in your heater vent too. My first TC had a ton of nests and DH actually had to hammer them to break them up and get them out of there. They were as hard as concrete. No wonder my first TCs heater never worked!

The heater vent and the space between the heater and the hull had remains of the biggest mouse colony I've ever seen. No live mice, though. I got it out of there so fast that I forgot to take photos!

Yes indeed, this is an adventure all by itself. I am having fun!

I bought a 6' long chunk of aluminum window screen and put it as a test in one vent--the one for my water heater. It only takes a small piece, so I would be willing to share a chunk to anyone who wants to use it to block their vents. Actually, I have never had this problem, but then again, I have not taken my vent covers off in a couple of years. Oops. Guess I had better check and then put screen in the other two vents. Actually, what I also need and have been neglectful to get is some kind of caulking that can handle a bit of heat.

To sum up my rambling, this is a good example of why I need to get off my duff and get the rest of my vents protected.
