We've had Fleetwoods for years. In fact our first motorhome in 1972 was a Fleetwood - it is the one we drove all the way to Argentina, So America. Our present Class C, Jennie, is a 1997 Fleetwood. Never had any problems with them.

Hi,
We have no experience in the MotorHome area of Fleetwood, but do have in the travel trailer area. Buyer Beware!!! They would not stand by their warranty. We had major leaks in less than 4 months, and when we tried to get it fixed, we were told that it was our responsibility to go up on top and check to be sure there were no places that needed fixing? :o REALLY at 4 months?????
Because of this, would never buy or recommend a Fleetwood product. I know many people have had wonderful experiences, but we didn't. :x And as far as I am concerned that one time was enough for us. Eventually where the leaks were, rotted the boards and roof got so flimsy you couldn't even put your hand up there without the top pushing in. Took it to the lake, put a cover over it, and bought a new camper, this one has aluminum framing. Live and learn.

Myrtle is a 1998 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 34J. She was one of the better MH's in the day. She uses 30 amp and has 2 AC's. I know! That would normally require 50 amp, but she has a dump load system, so the compressors don't run at the same time, etc. Advanced for her time, I think. Anyway...I bought her almost 3 yrs ago. I can say nothing but good things about their customer service and tech assistance! I have called them a number of times for help, when I needed to fix things myself. They were more than helpful. Their techs have explained how to fix things. They even put me through to Ford RV Division when I had my friend, Ken, trying to figure out the start up problem. They answered the phone right away and a Ford tech emailed me the wiring diagrams I needed immediately! This has been my experience. Good luck with your decision and, whatever you decide, I hope you are happy ;)

I would ask this question on the RV.Net forum. There would probably be more people with Fleetwood experience. Didn't Fleetwood change hands or have financial problems some years ago? It seems to be hard to compare RV's from year to year. I guess because they are always trying new things and floorplans. There are people that love Winnebagos but I had 2 in the 1980's and wouldn't have another one.

If I was going to get a Class A, which I'm probably never going to do, I would look at Tiffin. But I have heard of people having problems with them too.

Red, how about a 34' allegro bay front engine diesel? It's not brand new, but lovingly broken in.

No experience with fleet wood, but I think all of them have their goods and bads.

We have a 2009 35ft Fleetwood gas Bounder and have had no problems except that in a pouring rain we have to raise the front end slightly to keep the water from getting in those windows. Oh, and once the front slide wouldn't come in and tGM had to buy a screw and put it in. Wound up to be an easy and cheap fix. Thank goodness, because we were in the middle of nowhere :D carold

Fleetwood was completely reorganized and changed in hands in 2009. You really have to consider it a different company now. I have heard rumors that there were a lot of quality problems before the reorganization.

I have also had quite a few warranty issues. My experiences with dealers have been very bad. I can say that my experiences with the factory was much better than with the dealers, and so far, they have fixed everything. I love the floorplan of mine, but not the finishes.

Fleetwood no longer makes trailers. They now make only Class C and Class A motorhomes.

I think you need to take advice, not from me or current owners of newer vehicles, but of owners of RVs closer to the age of the one you are looking at, and then have it very, very carefully inspected.
