I went to my first RV show today in Minneapolis. I had a great time! I was surprised tho, that the booths there were mostly just for campgrounds and RV parks in MN and Wisconsin. I thought there would be more selling stuff for RVing and camping. Camping World had a little 10' X 10' booth with a couple things for sale.
Lots of RV's tho! I decided to just look mostly at smaller trailers that I would be more likely to start with. I looked at pop-up's but decided that with all the work of setting up and lacking a bathroom, they aren't worth the money they want for them. I did however, like the hard sided pop-ups. They have everything a small hardsided trailer has plus the pop-out bed/s. So the best of both worlds and not much more money or weight than the regular pop-ups. With those, too, you don't have to open the pop-out beds if you don't want (ie; bear country) since the couch and dinette can be used as beds.
I didn't see the exact set up I would like, but since I can't afford one right now anyways, it doesn't really matter. I would like a comfy couch (most were hard and boxy), a separate dinette/table, a separate bed, and a bathroom with a small bathtub. I know beggers can't be choosers so I may have to compromise once I can actually afford to buy one. But for today, it was fun to dream!
I also ran into a guy who was the manager at the apartments I lived in before moving to California. He and his brothers started a business making and selling teardrop trailers (way too small for my comfort), and had a booth at the show. That was fun to talk with them. They had heard I was back in town (it is a small town ).
So for now, I dream on...
