Mini GTG with Pamela

Postby retiredhappy » Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:57 am

Yesterday I met one of our new members, Pamela from Hunt, TX. She came over and we sat on my deck drinking ice tea for a couple of hours; comparing rigs, life experiences and solving world problems then we went for a shrimp dinner. Since she's stilling doing that four letter thing - work- we are gonna try to caravan for a quick weekend trip soon. Always nice to meet up with any of the forum ladies. Sorry, forgot the camera.

It is always fun to meet another forum member. Maybe you could caravan somewhere toward Houston, like Brenham or sommerville. Then I could come visit. :-)

Great that the two of you could gtg and that you have plans to do it again.

Well I am psyched after wanna be me met up with a real live seasoned female RV;er! The gypsy in all of us must connect our souls in a special way so that on our first meeting it is like we;ve known each other for a while already....always such a cool experience! I am just surfacing from the loss of the love of my life and the illness and near death of my precious kitty (on the heels of each other). In the darkness of all the pain and loss of the dream of traveling together, I didn;t see myself being able to move forward. I couldn;t imagine traveling without him but as my therapist reminded me many times the day will come and you will emerge and regain and reclaim that dream for yourself. I now believe it will come true. Sister Karen;s shared experiences has reignited my spark and hope. That;s what I love about us as women.....sharing our strengths and weaknesses with each in such a supportive way! Hope to do a mini-GTG next weekend and as I was talking to my BBF this morning she reminded me that it was also the weekend of my 64th birthday. Pretty bad when your best friend has to remind you ot;s your birthday (lol). She is so happy for me and I;m happy for me to! Thanks Karen for inviting me over yesterday!

The ladies on here have been thru alot and are very willing to share their experiences, both good and bad, and support and be there for each other. That is the beauty of this group! Not just about RVing, but about all of life's ups and downs!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sounds like a meeting of the minds! Pamela, there are many ladies on this site that have been thru what you described. It's hard to get thru it, and you never do completely, but with support and determination it can be done. 9 years next month since my Jack left and there are still times I have to force myself to get out of bed and put one foot in front of the other. You go, girl!!

Don't think I've ever heard anyone describe Karen as an angel.....
