Great News X 2.5

Postby bluepinecones » Thu Jan 24, 2013 5:56 pm

First:
Many of you know my BIL (husbands brother) health has been failing pretty seriously. He is a severe diabetic, suffered two major heart attacks, had to have some of his toes amputated last year and most recently suffered kidney failure. He has been in hospital since before Christmas and in ICU most of the time since Christmas.
I got to talk to him last night. He improved enough that he got to go home Tuesday. Still requires nursing care but was so happy to be home and he sounded stronger than any time I've talked to him in past couple of months..
Second:
BIL's only son (very nice young man who lived with me for a year or so before he got married) found out yesterday that his wife is pregnant with twins. Think the father-to- be is still in shock but very happy.
2.5:
So far so good with Nicky. I was very hesitant about trying this trip with him but he is doing great. Well, maybe with the exception of trying to go after a cat that was wandering around in the campground this afternoon. I really do have to be careful with him because if its small and runs, he seems to think his duty to catch.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Great news, Sarah! So glad to hear it. As to Nicky and cats ... he might not be so happy if he does get close. Cats outside have claws, and aren't afraid to use them. Nicky just might learn some respect. Hopefully it doesn't come to that :) And I bet he's thrilled to be seeing all these different places.

Glad to hear BIL is doing better and TWINS, how exciting. Tyler goes crazy over cats. He's been seriously scratched a few times, but that doesn't stop him. He's pretty, but not so bright

Very, very, very good news! :D Home for your BIL & Twins! what fun! So happy for you & the family.
As Beth said, cats can teach a quick lesson if Nicky gets too close. This has proven true here when new granddogs/puppies are introduced to grandkitties... only takes once & there is immediate humility & respect. Of course, letting them get that close takes great courage... :D

It was really great news for Sarah last night. She was just beaming. Nicky has been wonderful. He is such a good dog. Cannot wait to see you both again on Sunday.

I thought Nicky did very good in Tunica...didn't realize there was a problem but glad all is ok now. Lots of other good news for you, too! Awesome!

GREAT news!!! So happy to hear you are well on your way, Sarah, and that Nicky is having a fun time! Dinah, although she gets along famously with any animal that isn't running, let one run and off she goes like a sky rocket! She chased Goog's and Melissa's cat, Brody, high up a tree a few days ago, and she was not about to quit the chase until he was out of reach-----first time Brody didn't stand his ground and swat her in the nose!

I am so looking forward to this GTG in just a couple of days now. We have the truck all packed and will be rolling to the trailer with it all in the early morning, stopping at the St. Cloud doc for my last Zapping! Good thing, as those spots are VERY sore right now.

See you all in a couple of days.

Happy travels!
