Red's on the road

Postby Birdie » Sat Jan 12, 2013 6:00 pm

Well, they hit the road headed West. It should be a fun and interesting first long trip. Chris was a little excited, heart be still! Tyler was really antsy. Perhaps he thought he was staying with me - okay so not really. Larry was his stoic self...let's get going, perhaps without the (!) after it.

It got pretty windy here about 2 hours agao. I sure hope it was coming from mostly the east southeast so it would be a nice tail wind. I think it was coming from the Northwest, so it would not be fun!

Ready to hit the road....okay about

But then Tyler is a little antsy. He is so ready to go.

Move over - here they come.

Suite Pea, Herbie and me get to stay around here for a bit. Not a bad job!

It has been really quiet, windy, but quiet.

They are going to have so much fun on this their BIG adventure. We are praying for good weather for traveling and safe travels all the way out there and back. Living the life!

Birdie, thanks for posting the pics. I was wondering if they had gotten off yet. Red sure did look excited. I can just picture Larry (his stoic self).

I know they will be more relaxed with you there looking after everything. Good place for you to relax now. It has been rough on you, the last couple of months. Enjoy whatever down time you can get.

Thanks for the pix Birdie.

Red - have a great trip. Hope it's warmer in AZ than it is in CA!! See you in Quartzsite. The MH is full of diesel and propanei and parked in front of the house ready to pack up. It's very cold here on the Central Coast of CA.

Have fun.

Newsflash Linda! It's cold down here in SoCal, too! Gonna be chilly in Q for a few days and then warm up a bit. Chris and her hubby may be missing Texas and wishing they had gone to the Fla GTG before it's all over! LOL!

Birdie, looks like a nice gig you've got yourself there! Enjoy the peace and quiet!

Thanks, Birdie for posting the pics. Our first day on the road went well. Stopped at Camping World to pick up a couple of necessities. So hit the road from CW at 2:30 pm. ReAlly strong winds. DH not liking the wind. Then big dark, black clouds. Then just before San Antonio wind stopped and although not clear, skies were much more friendly. We made it to an RV spot just north of Boerne @ 6 pm. Staying overnight at the Hill Top RV Park. Not un hooking. Like the name says, it's on top of a hill with really nice views of the Hill Country. ( I think Lori recommended this RV spot). You can see I10 below, but don't hear the noise. WiFi is good. DH got into his lounge chair and is now watching a football game. Antenna gets good reception. So haven't used dish yet. Tyler & I went for a nice walk. It is getting cold. I'm ready for an early evening. Good night all.

Glad you got out of the wind. I stayed at that park several years ago. Nice spot for overnight. Travel safe, have fun, and see you soon.

Chris, I am really glad the weather cleared up for y'all. I bet I am watching same game as DH. LOL.

Stay safe and have a wonderful time! Cannot wait to hear about your adventures and all the GTG's you'll have. Pet Tyler for me and tell DH Hi!

Sharon - Did I hear correctly on the radio today that it was 14 in Los Angeles? Pretty cold! When I went to the MH today, think it was 46 inside.
