Great post, thank you Liz! I loved all the rocking chairs especially the one with the high solid back!. That was a LOT of stairs you and Nan must still be in good shape from you Alaska adventures. I bet Nan and her friends had a great time playing there as children.
The water running into the aquifer made me think of the PBS special where they traced and filmed where it runs underground all across FL. Divers would go down and into the aquifer and they had some way of tracing them on top. The tracing crew would even go through restaurants. Some of the places the divers went were really narrow and as they would approach an opening, long before they got to it there would be an amazing amount of trash. Because of all the contaminants that were thrown into the openings the divers would have to go through decontamination process before taking off their diving suits. Has anyone else seen this special? I can't think of the name of it, would love to see it again.

I saw that documentary a few years ago...don't remember the name either, but it was interesting. On edit: This may be a link to the series: Water's Journey:

Loved the tour, Liz. Especially loved the pic of the leaves on the water.

The sun was out and the temperatures were perfect. We hiked as much as we could, but I had to stop and rest after coming up those 232 steps. LOL This was a remember when day for me, remembering places and things I did so many years ago. Forgot how pretty some of these spots were.
The VFW did a great job putting on the dinner, it was even better because we didn't cook, clean up, just eat and leave.
Hope all of you had a great TG day.

Thanks for sharing these lovely places & pics with us. Loved the rose especially as our temps are diving here in the midwest. Looks like a perfect way to spend a beautiful Thanksgiving day.
(Does look like a lot of steps to climb back up though
)

Nan, on those steps I would have been stopping several times...
I would have said it was to look at the scenery but that would have been if I could still talk and breath at the same time.....
