Some of you may have gotten the email i received regarding forming a RVW (RVing Women, this is another group for those who are nit familiar) chapter for these states. i think i saw martha's name on there. I was a member but inactive of this group for a year but let my membership expire. They are a little different from us as far as I can tell in that they are more structured (started to say more organized buth don't mean that) Anyway I told this lady i would be interested, Since one of the only things Ive decided is i don't really like going alone this would give my another group to meet with and go places.Anyway, if anyone in these areas want this info Ill get it to you. Wendy

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for the info.
I got an email about the RVW membership forming this chapter, as well.
I have been a member of RVW for three years and a Texas chapter member of the Ramblin Roses. The majority of the campouts were just too far for me to make (especially since I am still working). I attended two campouts the first year, only one the second year and none the third year. I was not going to renew my membership for year 4, but when I received the RVW email stating that they were trying to get a new chapter (4 state, which included my state of LA), I think I am going to reconsider and renew my membership. Hopefully, there will be more campouts that I will be able to attend. And of course, maybe see you at one of them, too!
I, like you, enjoy rving and camping with others. It is always fun to share good times and conservations with other like minded individuals.

I dropped my membership after the first year. I don't like having to pay a annual fee so I can attend GTG's. If you form a chapter for just those states does that mean someone traveling through isn't welcome to attend a GTG? See, gets too complicated, exclusive, too many rules and regulations. Anyone, from anywhere are always welcome at any of the RVing Women GTG's. No need to be approved or sponsored or anything - just come and join us.

Those are RVing Women, I think you meant Women RV
. That said I'm for anything that gets our sisters out, about and having fun. And we'll all have different ways. I probably wouldn't join, but in different circumstances, who knows.

I had lunch with Holly yesterday and she is excited that 28 women have expressed an interest in a new chapter for this area. I love the Texas friends that I have met through RVW but it would be nice to go to a rally that wasn't 500 miles away for me. I'm sure I will still go West sometimes.
Wendy, I feel like you, it's just more fun with a group. This would give us more options. I would love to go to the Florida GTG but that would be almost 800 miles for me. Someday I might be able to make longer trips but can't do it now.

I didn't get any email about joining a chapter with LA as one of the states. Would be interested if it didn't have too many rules and regulations. Could someone forward the email to me so I can check it out?
Thanks. Send me a PM and I will send email address. Thanks

Sharlotte, just be aware that they don't allow any men or children at their gtg's. I went to their website and decided that it might not be a good idea, since I've already been kicked out of one group!

Man, Tennessee never gets anything...
Even on The Weather Channel, the girl is almost always standing right in front of Tennessee...
Oh, well.
Hey, Vickie - why don't you try and see how many groups you can get kicked out of?
I know you can't come back to The Blue Marlin B&BLD - you're much to hard on the lawn...

As for as I know, a RVW member traveling is welcome to attend chapter rallies in other states.
RVW has a good bi-monthly magazine that I enjoy reading, too.

I'm a member of RVW, too. I am excited about a chapter in the South...and I am pretty sure that any member is welcome at any GTG but they do request that you let the hosting chapter know that you are coming. I have some of the printed brochures for the new chapter if anyone wants me to drop one in the mail to you, just PM your address to me. I am meeting with HollyAnn this week.

Most of us on this forum aren't members of RVW so I guess we wouldn't be welcomed at their GTGs unless sponsored by a member and that was my point. Just me personally but I don't want to pay an annual membership fee so I can attend GTG's. If you didn't get an email about the "new" chapter its because you're not a member of RVW and aren't on their mailing list. They do have their own website if you're interested in joining. Maybe if I was traveling more, I'd reconsider joining but for now, there are plenty of Women RVers scattered around the country that I feel I could find someone to visit if I was in their neighborhood.

Didn't mean to offend anyone by mentioning this. Like I said, just another option for those who may be interested in another set of people to meet with. It just may be another traveling opportunity, because if I don't get out and use the mh more often Il probably just give it up.

From the post sisterT made regarding the gtg in the east it sounds as if the women's group can put together some neat activities.....and I vote for anything that will keep Wendy running around in her rig.
I, like Karen, don't want to spend money on a membership that I might not use but I can see that if there is a really active friendly group in your area it would help keep the grass from growing around your tires.....
For now I am more interested in traveling and sight seeing and finding (like the travelers of old that left secret signs on the gate....) certain driveways and kitchens that welcome fellow travelers...... :=)

Tried to delete my post, but wasn;t able to click on edit for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I like the style of gtgs thisd group does better, with no plans just visiting and do what we want. But once in awhile I might like to take a short trip for a couple of days close to home and come back. I seem to be too caught up in family and friend and neighbor things to go off for long trips like so many of you do, and I guess I don't like my own company that well! I must be boring. I was also thinking I read somewhere you can attend two events before joining, but that may have been Escappees or LOW's.
