I have been mostly absent from the forum for a while. Since the Lyme Disease, I just didn't feel well. Assumed it was lingering Lyme but eventually found out that my aortic valve had deteriorated to the point that it needs replacing. Going in on Election Day for open heart surgery. I was holding up pretty well but last night was a meltdown. I finished up my last day of work yesterday before my medical leave and I guess without the distraction of work, it all just hit me. Mostly I was angry but I think it is really just being frightened. My oldest daughter will take me to her home when I am released. I hope to only need about a week with her and then move back to my rig. The corner bed is the problem. You can't push, pull or lift for a while. I would imagine that crawling is out.

While you are watching those election results, send some positive energy my way. I will be blissfully unaware under the influence of narcotics. Hope to be back on the forum in a couple of weeks.

Our prayers will be with you, Joan. Best of luck for the surgery, I'm glad they found out what was wrong & now they can get it fixed. Post as soon as you can afterwards & let us know how it went.

Joan, I'm so glad you didn't keep thinking it was the shingles and got this found! Hopefully in a couple/few weeks you'll feel better than you have in a long time. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us in the loop.

Will be thinking of you, Joan. Just take it one hurdle at a time...and don't worry about what you can't change...you want all your energy to get back on your feet and back on the road. This detour is temporary.

Sorry to hear that, but after the surgery you will be good as new, if not better! And will be back on the road before you know it! Will send up a prayer for a very successful surgery and speedy recovery!

Oh Joan, so sorry you are having to go through this. My prayers are with you through the surgery and recovery process. I pray everything goes smoothly and successfully, and that you will soon be feeling better than you have in a long time. I'm so glad you have your daughter near to help. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you...you are only a few hours away from me.

Joan, praying for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for you. They have made great advances in heart surgeries, and I pray your surgeons hands will be guided!

Joan, I'm adding my thoughts & prayers for successful surgery & quick recovery. I know how fiercely independent most of us & probably the best medicine will be getting back in your rig. Just be patient with yourself & the process to ensure a thorough recovery first.

I will say a prayer for a successful repair, and a quick and complete recovery.
