Just heard from my cousin in Quakertown, PA. She said they lost power and were told to expect it to be out for some time. Maybe even until after election day. I can't believe the pictures on tv. NYC underwater, subways flooded in Manhattan, water covering the runways at the airports, geez....its bad.

Everyone take care if you are in the path of this dangerous storm and check in when you can.

its not good, will pray for ALL in its path. A power outage can certainly be an inconvenience for some but for others it can be life threatening.

We are in NC and are planning to go back to MD Wednesday. Friends told us earlier our yard was flooded so we don't know what we have left to go home to. At least we still have our home on wheels. Take care everyone.

Irmi, stay safe. I hope your damage isn't too bad. And hope we hear from all our forum sisters who are in harms way.

We got the news we dreaded hearing, and our house is flooded once again. I'm going to try to talk Steve into staying here in NC for a couple more days to wait for the water to receed, plus we don't know if we have power at the house. Thanks for all your good thoughts.

Irmi, hated hearing your house was flooded. Hopefully Steve will agree to you all staying put a couple more days. When you do head back, be sure and be careful. No telling what you will come across as you head home.

Irmi - my thoughts go out to you and Steve. Stay safe as you head back to MD. And waiting a few days may not be a bad thing. Power company crews from here started headed for the DC/MD area yesterday and they were told they would be there a minimum of 2 weeks.

Irmi, so sorry for this bad news...as the others have said be very careful on your way home. So much destruction and so many people without homes in the aftermath...prayers for all who are suffering and for those sent to help and begin the process of restoring needed services. My son said the contract workers with First Electric are being sent to the East. In another day, he might have had to go but now contract companies are in place for the disasters.

I'm so very sorry to hear this, Irmi. Been there, done that, as you have also. Is there any way you can raise your house? I know here in LA there are companies that can even raise homes that are built on slabs by raising them & pumping concrete underneath.

Here's hoping that the damage isn't too bad, Irmi. I think it was a good idea to wait a few days before returning. Thank goodness you have another "home" to live in. Keep us posted. carold

Oh no! So sorry to see that. :( Lots of work ahead of you to clean up. You sure have a beautiful house tho! Too bad you can't haul it up the hill to higher ground!
