We are scheduled to leave for our vacation tomorrow morning. Think it is going to be more like 1-2 pm before we get o0 amn the road tho. The jeep started to make a grinding noise when a hard left turn is made. Took it to the jeep dealer last Thursday and the bad news was it needed some part for the transmission which had to be ordered from Detroit! The part is now in the Twin Cities and won't be up to the St Cloud dealer until later this afternoon. Mechanic promised me it would be ready by 10am but I am not counting on it being ready until after noon. Today I am packing the Shasta with all things we need for 3 weeks in Wyoming, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. I am running at least a week behind getting ready as on the 5th of October while visiting with my Dr about a prescription refill she convinced me to have a pnuemonia vaccination. I have not had that or a flue vaccination and have always survived the winter with maybe a slight cold if anything. Well 24 hours after the injection I was flat on my back coughing, sneezing, had horrible aches and pains and severe chills and laryingitis. I coughed so hard and frequently my ribs ached. Dr and pharmacist say it is just a coincidence but I believe i reacted to the virus. Today I am feeling more like my self and cough now and then. In the course of my routine visit the dr noticed my blood sugar had jumped over into the danger zone. i have known for several years it is high and have tried to keep it at a good level by diet. Now she said it's time to start medication. So not only making dr visits for this virus have been seen the np diabetes specialist learning about new diet and finger pricking. Nurse practitioner says with the metformin and diabetic diet i will do real good if i never have ice cream or cake again..but that is no life so lets work a little into your diet occassionally. What a sweetheart she is. So the dogs suitcase is all packed , bedding and hygenie necessities are in the trailer. I had better get busy and get blankets and more items on my long list out to the Shasta! Can't wait until tomorrow...On the Road Again.

Have fun on your trip! I'm on the ride tomorrow but my trip will be much much shorter. And I haven't even begun to pack.

Have a wonderful trip and be safe. Smart dietian--tell people they can't ever have something they like again and the temptation to cheat becomes overwhelming. Smarter to plan for a trip once in a while and that pretty much goes for any type of a diet. Good luck.

Well we didn't get out of town on Thursday as we had hoped. Barbzees Mr. Murphy spent the day at our house. The jeep dealer called mid morning and said the jeep was ready. Since John still works under contract with the county he had to run to work and do a few last minute things. As soon as he got home we started for St Cloud to get jeep. There is construction on I 94 from Clearwater to St Cloud. We forgot to not take the freeway and got caught in terrible traffic snarl. Took us 45 minutes to go 3.5 miles to an exit. Then traffic in town was immense. We finally got the jeep and by the time we got home it was 2:30 and we still had to load the jeep and hitch the Shasta up and check lights etc. We new it would be at least 4:30 before we could leave so decided to wait until Friday morning. Made it to Omaha last night. It was a good day for just driving and no stopping for sight seeing as it wasa blustery rainy day. Only 38 degrees when we left home. Today was a beautiful day for driving across Nebraska. Sunshine. blue sky and some clouds. Made it to Cheyenne Wyoming tonight where we are the littlest camper tucked in among all the class A's. But we are happy and cozily tucked in for the night. We will go to Salt Lake tomorrow and from there to Zion National Park. We meet my 2 sisters at Lost Dutchman State Park for a vintage trailer camp out. Then it is on to Tucson to stay at my sisters for 3 days. We have such a tight schedule and are already one day behind so my time doesn't allow any gtg this trip. I'm sorry i won't be able to meet up with any of you. it would be so much fun to get to know sistahs in person. But there is always the next trip. I could see the mountains off in the distance as we pulled into the campsite. AH I love it out west.

Sounds like you are going to have a great time. Wise to wait until you were rested up to take off. Have fun and take pictures.
