What awesome up close and personal pictures of the otters. Great narration. I love your tour. You should photograph and write their brochure!!!

I think I know what I do now

Great post, and I, too, love your otter pictures. Early in the year, we wouldn't see them go back to sleep on us - not when we were close. They do get used to us, and I think they know when it's our boat (yeah, I'm stretching it a bit, but it sure seems that way sometimes- even though there's no way I can know if we're stopping by any of the same otters!)

And if any of you think the calving she saw wasn't magnificent - it WAS. I just was very, very lucky to have seen the other one, and even luckier to get some video of it.

Thank you Liz for taking us on your cruise with Beth. I enjoyed every moment of it. Definitely felt like I was along for the ride. You write your captions so well.

Wonderful post & narrative Liz, think you!! The Lu-Lu Belle is beautiful and Beth looks so happy. I think she will be sad when it's time to leave Valdez.

Lizzie, Lizzie, Lizzie... you out did yourself... I loved every minute of it.. and I WANT a Sea Otter..LOL

Omg.. I could just cuddle those buggers..and yep I'd cook for them.. hey would they eat Baccala...LOL

just love love love it... so cute.. I'm gonna snatch those photos and send to my cousins...LOL..both are marine biologists..out on the west coast...hahahaha...too much !!!

I did have a personal otter once

Scuba Diving Point Lobos, CA November 1976. All the underwater photographers were looking for this little guy, but he wanted to hang out with me.....I'd like to think it was my magnetic personality but

Here's the real story (TMI warning :shock:

)
.... he was more interested in the breakfast I had just offered to the sea gods and goddesses :lol:
