so what did you think of the Huckleberry 'Crisp? love huckleberries preferably fresh with cream thank you but in a pinch will
accept them in pie or on top of ice cream or you name it other than not really crazy about them in the candy
there is a gem in Idaho that is found only in Idaho but not sure which on it is right now perhaps a type of opal but just can't remember
very interesting pictures you might like to stop at Virginia City think is the name although not sure which route you will be taking

Yes, the opal with 6 "stars" is only found in Idaho. The lady showed us some one of the local artists had made into pieces. You can see the "star" pattern reflected when a light is shined on them. Very pretty, but would have sucked out too much gas and dog food money away from those budget lines.....

Chuck and I did a gold mine tour in Cripple Creek, CO several times with friends and GK's. We loved it. Made it a point to do the tour anytime we were in that area to see what had changed as it was a working mine most of the year.

Fascinating to learn that flooding the lower levels keeps the wooden supports from rotting----I would have thought just the opposite---that all should be kept dry. Amazing what one can learn from hands on, as those lucky high school seniors found out. What a great tour you had! thanks for sharing!

Tina if you are still close to Missoula, there is an area a little north and I think it was the Bison Range. Well worth the very short trip, we stayed at Jim and Mary's RV park in Missoula and went and toured the area. It is a one way road that winds up to the top of a mountain and it breath taking. You are up there with the bears, and the bison (right beside your car) and the views from the top are absolutely beautiful. Need to take your toad, not RV if you have one. Tight turns and climbs.
