Skagway and Beyond

This is the last one for awhile as Nan and I will be leaving our wonderful internet connection behind and heading over to Jasper National Park and down towards Banff. We are noticing the changes in the season coming on and feel good about our slow drift to the south and the border. There is still a lot of land to visit and explore between here and home.....

Another beautiful area. Those lakes looked perfect for kayaking.

Looking forward to seeing those new PJs. Soos probably has a PJ fashion show on FL gtg schedule. She and Alice led the way last year.

Loved your pix of the hwy out of Skagway, brought good memories back, we went in and out of Skagway on that road and was so different then any place I had ever been, loved this post and fully agree with you on town, but there is a lot of history there too, which is whar Liz and I looked for. Did you go out to old cemetery?

Loved it , Thanks Tina,
CArol :)

I'm sad about what's become of Skagway. When I was there in 1983, they received one cruise ship a week! Skagway was a fun stepping off point for last-minute supplies before hiking the Chilkoot Trail, slowly, over a span of 5 days.

We took the Alaska State Ferry from Seattle to Skagway, and slept in a tent on the deck to avoid the stateroom fees.

Beautiful scenery, Tina, but for the treatment of those poor horses which made me feel sick. I would hope we have come a ways beyond that type of treatment in this day and age, but sometimes I worry that perhaps we haven't.

The reflection pic that looks like an arrowhead is spectacular! If not for the trees and the grasses in the foreground, you could turn it sideways and make it a 3D stereoptican picture! I may just print that out and give it a try, even though it would be turned in another direction!

Thanks for the great peek at another part of Alaska!

Soos, glad you noticed that one....sideways it reminded me of some sort of masked face or creature.....

You will need to get the first hand report from a few that attended the Florida gtg last winter. I heard that several ladies set the stylish tone with their comfortable PJ bottoms around the campfire.....and that several others have now been made fashion conscious as we all are  trying to find some PJ's of their own for the next campfire opportunity. :D Alice? Soos? did I miss anything important?

Would the Budlight lounge pants and size 3X Tee that were Chuck's I am wearing right now qualify? My oldest told me yesterday a whole 'nother family could fit in these with me.  Very stylish, I think.
