Mail services ???

Postby Getupngo » Wed Jul 25, 2012 11:35 pm

I would like some recommendations for mail forwarding services. I've looked at Escapees and FMCA.

What do you look for? What is important to you?

I use Americas Mailbox out of South Dakota. They do lots of other things for me - but as far as a mail service only - I want one that responds to my needs/requests - and they do so. And I don't want to pay an arm and a leg over and above the costs, either.

I am going to use Escapees. Since I am Texas resident, I thought this would be the easiest for me.

I'm currently using the UPS Store, because it's easiy & convenient. If/when I start traveling, I might compare it to Escapees & see if there's any benefit to switching.

I opted for the Gold plan - probably would be fine with the Silver plan. They have been super for me. I went with SD residency - when I bought my toad, I was in AL. Car was purchased from FL. Had the car delivered to me in AL; the title sent to them in SD. They went to court - got me the SD title and license plates and sent them overnight to AL. Was great. And easy. And cheaper than most states. If you're just looking at doing the mail - that's pretty straight forward. But Americas Mailbox is owned by an rver - who understands what we want/need.

My biggest concern is that I receive my medications in the mail and would need them shipped to me asap.

I probably wouldn't do the SD residency thing because I still will have my desert condo -- even if I'm not there 6 months out of the year. The Tax Commission (for which I was its "mouthpiece" for a dozen years) would get me on income tax evasion.

You can set up shipping weekly, monthly, or just pick dates (I pick dates) and do it all in the computer. I only get my mail about once a month, but if I know there's something I want coming, will get it more often.

in Jan can do it in the fall so not sure if I will drive out and do it or just change states...another thing I have to decide...
we too will look at what comes on the internet if I'm so inclined will have the mail sent on right now more often than normal
so that I get all the information that I need in a more timely manner
She has been a great help and right now not recalling Terri's company name oh well if it comes will edit it in
