Dr. Visit

Wasn't sure where to put this, thought under its own topic might be best.

Dr. Did say one of the meds would cause this swelling. So we made a change. He called for chest x-ray today, to be sure all pneumonia was gone.

Monday I go to get a heart monitor, which I'll wear 24hrs. Some of you probably know about these, this is my first time. Heart dr here has been consulted and I'm to do a stress test, another first for me. His office will call for date etc for that.

These test all have to be done to make sure the heart is ok, after it's ordeal. Then I can get off the Blood Thinner. My dr. Told me it would take a couple of months for me to get back to my normal, until then blood pressure will be unstable and he said I was doing right in taking meds, if it's really low in the mornings. I can't take meds.

The rest of my summer will be dr visits and gaining my strength back, which he said will be several months, longer period of time then others had said. I see my dr. In two weeks, he did say he would call with test results.

Highlight of dr. Visit was when I stepped on the scales , DO NOT WANT TO GAIN THAT BACK  In two wks, less would be better!!!!

Thank you all for your concern for me, What a Super boost of spirits all the inquiries gave me, I shall be better then ever soon, especially if the scales keep the numbers down !!!!

CArol :)

Praying that it's as simple as getting the meds right, and time to regain strength. Thanks for updating us.

CArol,

The doctors visit sounded pretty hopeful that it will just be an adjustment of meds and then time until you are back in tip top shape. That's what I am hoping for for you.

You may not "bounce" back as fast and as easily as you used to...but "scappy" and "determined" will work also. So glad that they are monitoring everything so that you can keep on the best track for recovery and health.....

So happy you are home and under your own Drs care. I know we always want immediate results but pray for calmness and patience as you recover and return to your old self. Notice I didn't type the word old in bold or use quote marks!
Hugs!

Hey CArol, glad to hear that news so far. I kind of wondered if it might be meds and pray that's all it is too. Tina summed it up pretty well back there, so now further comments needed in that area.

In the meantime, start plotting that next trip even if it's next spring or whatever. Give you some incenitive to keep going and get better. Something to plan and look forward to. Heck, maybe you will make it to MI, who knows. And then there's the Trace and.....

Glad that you finally made it to your own Doc. Kind of a little mixed bag, huh? But all in all rather good news. So now to work at keeping it all straight and level. And your dander up to beat the he77 out of that scale.

Very relieved at the "prognosis"!

Pretty good news, CArol - hopefully the weight stays off and more goes with it - as that makes you happy. And hopefully changing the one med will take care of the nasty swelling. That's been no fun - and probably sapped you even more, both mentally and physically. Doctor might be saying things will take longer than you want - but sounds like he's saying it's all going to come together. Now, go show them all what you're made of and wow them with your stress test! Big, big hugs and healing thoughts coming your way.

All righty, then! I remember when I was taking Norvasc for high blood pressure that I, too, swelled up like an engorged wood tick in my lower extremities. Scared the pooty out of me, and the school nurse made me go directly to the doc. Switching that med for another similar one fixed me right up as far as the swelling went. Sounds as if your hometown doc knows what he is doing and what needs to be done for you, and will watch and analyze test results to come up with a formula to get your strength back to par. YAY Doc!

I will be thinking of you, and wishing I could see you here at the Ruckus this summer, but will have to be patient and wait until FL GTG, whenever and wherever we decide to have that!

Sending happy thoughts and strength to heal your way, along with hugs!
