Making our way into Fairbanks

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:02 am

We are staying in the state recreational park right in town but the dogs have grass and trees. Liz and Birdie are heading off early tomorrow morning for a "tour" to the Arctic Circle and back. Nan and I are staying to do some exploring around Fairbanks.

Sheila,

I agree Mitch on her own is a scary thought. Who'll bring bail money, I wonder?

These pics are beautiful as always. Really enjoying your trip.

Worries me that she decided to quit the trip and return home like that. Hope she is ok.

I got several texts from Mitch tonight, she was tired, drove quite a bit today, headed to see Beth then towards TN. Don't worry, I track her on Google Latitude, I'm not about to let her hide from me! :D

Not to worry! Group travel just isn't everyone's cup 'o tea :D and the beast will keep me out of trouble...

Just don't ask about the boulder i backed into this evening, nor the almost impossible to extricate myself position I managed to maneuver the Mobile Marlin...

Maybe going solo will FINALLY teach me to back up! Nah...

Looking forward to seeing you. I learned group travel wasn't my cup of tea 3 years ago on my first Alaska trip. Feel free to stay here in Valdez as long or as short a time as you want. You can boondock and I can show you some places or you can stay in a park. there are some spots right where I am - cheaper and full hookups. I'll be working so you don't have to entertain me or be entertained by me.
But if you stay here you'll have to back up. Well there's a young couple here for the summer who's help I'm sure. He pulled their trailer in so easy I was way impressed.

Good thing you're coming. You still owe me a drink I believe. Haha me the big drinker. I opened one bottle of wine since arriving and haven't finished it yet.

Looks like you all are having a blast.... :D Glad Remi is happy knowing his "Aunties"... ;) And yes, Mitch, I can understand that group travel isn't everyone's "cup of tea"....but enjoy your visit with Beth, and also your trip back to the "lower 48"......time alone in new places can be healing and a great start toward the rest of your life....keep in touch and maybe we'll cross paths on our way West....

Safe travels....

Mitch is now on her own? WHAT? How did I miss this tidbit of news, I wonder. I guess I'd best begin reading more posts or blogs, or whatever. Between two RV roups, Facebook, and umpteen blogs, I get so lost I can't know up from down. Anyway, I hope you have a fun visit with Beth, Mitch, and that the other four ladies can keep truckin', wherever they wish to go. Everyone stay safe and enjoy the experience, wherever you may be.

Where are you? Should I take my rig down by the dock?

Mitch, I snatched this pic from Beth's blog. Thought it might help you find her, the big sign says Glacier Wildlife Cruises,
the little boat says Little Lu Lu RV Park.

Mitch, the office and little RV park is about two blocks from where the boat is. Yea it's hard to find anything lol. It's on Kobuk. As you drive into Valdez watch for the sign to turn left to the Lulu Belle then one block in there is a sign too turn right. The office will be on the left.
