May Have a TT Free to Someone in Need

Postby Dawn309 » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:19 pm

I may have a travel trailer that I can give to someone in need if my daughter and her husband don't want it. It is the TT my brother has been living in for the last 3 years. Chuck and I bought it for him when he became disabled so he would have a place to call his own, but he was still here on the land so we could help him if he needed it. When he gets his stuff out of it and he gets it cleaned up, I will post pics. He said everything works in it. It needs some 12 volt lights and has some calcium build up in the water lines because our water is so hard here.

He will be hitting the road with Mom and me, but in a Class C for him. I would rather give this to someone who could use a helping hand than try to sell it for whatever it might bring. It has one slide on the dinette side. If I remember right, it's a Cameo. We bought it used for $11,000 and it has definitely been lived in since then. I don't remember how long it is, but I will try to get all that info together when I post pics. It's probably going to be about a month before we will be leaving here, but he may have it ready for someone else before then. I will get with my daughter to find out if she and her husband want it, but wanted to find out if anyone knew of someone could use it if they don't.

Dawn, if you don't find someone who needs it you could consider donating it to a nonprofit organization. They can sell it and you can get a tax credit.

Thanks Vickie. I really would like to help someone out. Donating it would accomplish the same goal if I cannot find anyone who wants it. Times are so hard for a lot of people.

Echo comes to mind, she's working at Dollywood right now. Cameo is a very well built unit.
My fifthwheel is a cameo. Echo could really use a break to come her way.

I thought about Echo too. She is in TN and I am in Texas, so don't know how I would get it to her. If she knows someone who could come get it for her, that would be great. It definitely will need a little remodel with fabric, I think. My brother is not the neatest person and has been known to spill things especially if he has a seizure and something is in his hand. Luckily his meds have his seizures under control now. I have a coffee stain on my carpet in the 5th wheel because he had a seizure the first time Chuck and I took it out. Paul was with us on that trip. That was a memorable trip. We had to call an ambulance to take Paul to the hospital because he just kept having seizures that day. Long story short, that was the beginning of him being on seizure meds.

I will know by this weekend if Darla and Mark want the TT. If not, I will definitely donate it if I cannot find an individual to take it. It would be great if Echo could get it since Paul says everything works in it. I know whe has problems with some of her appliances. That's what made me start thinking in this direction.

I got the title out of the safe. It is a 27ft 2000 Cameo with one slide on the dinette side.

Yep, Echo is interested! :D

Ava, thank you so much for thinking of me and a big thank you to Lenora for giving me a heads up this morning too. I have great Sistahs!!! And thank you to Sheila! ;)

And thank you too Dawn!

I pm'd Dawn this morning letting her know that I was interested. This trailer is so much newer than what we have right now and that everything works is super good news. Have already looked at the mileage from here to TX and possible cost in gas for me to get out there. Maybe counting my chickens before their even laid!!! But what the heck, I can be hopeful too.

Will be waiting to see what Darla and Mark say. If they decide that they want to keep it? It's no problem so don't worry. :D

All the Sistahs on this list are awesome. Never have I ever came across a group of women like the ones here on the forum!!!

How many others would drive another Sistah ??? miles to pick up an RV. How many others would let someone live in their RV while waiting for ins to kick in to get a replacement one for the one you had that was wrecked? How many would load their RV out for a weekend GTG?

Ladies, you all ROCK!!!! YAY FOR SISTAHS!!!

Darla thinks the TT should go to Echo too so I will push Paul to get his stuff out of it so I can clean the carpet, etc. It's probably going to be at least 3 weeks before I have it ready for you, Echo. If that time frame changes I will let you know.

Echo, Mom wants to know if you could use a toaster oven. Get set, she will probably try to load you up with stuff. I am glad you will be her focus instead of me for awhile. LOL. She can bring more things into my house than I could ever use. She wanted to give you her microwave too, but Paul told her the microwave in the TT was better than the one she had. I am giving you fair warning. LOL.

Dawn, I am reading your post with teary eyes...what a great gesture on your part. Echo will never forget this and someday no doubt she will pass this on. Life turns on a dime and God above answers prayers. I'm just thrilled for both of you.

God has blessed our family in so many ways. I think Chuck and God have been working hand in hand here. Chuck was always helping people when he saw a need. He was probably the most giving person I have ever known. Echo has been really heavy in my mind. She works so hard and life has not been kind to her from what I see here. Since Paul won't be needing the TT anymore, God and Chuck led me to offer it for someone else to use. I thought of Echo, but am so far from Tenn, that I did not know how that would work getting it to her. I also did not know if Darla and Mark wanted it. Darla never hesitated one minute tonight when I told her who it would go to if they did not want it. She immediately wanted Echo to have it too. All through this, has been the hand of God doing the directing. I am just following God's lead I feel like. This also lets me give back for all the friendship and support I have found here with all you ladies. In all my dark hours, I have found a bright light here. I feel that God led me to this forum too. You have no idea how much you all have given me and answered my prayers.
