Unexpected travel events

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun May 27, 2012 4:54 pm

We just got some bad news regarding CArol. She had decided to stay put on Friday because of the cold she was fighting. She told us she just wanted a day to rest and wouldn't let anyone stay with her or even take Maggie so that she wouldn't have to take her out. Well apparently she wasn't feeling better as she reported yesterday. When we didn't hear back from her at all today we finally made a "well call" to the police and found that Carol had been taken to the hospital there in Sheridan. Her son has been called as he is her emergency contact so hopefully her family will be traveling in to support her. Maggie is being taken to a boarding facility by the police for care with the permission of her son.

The hospital said that she will be in intensive care and probably hospitalized for four days. Her daughter- in-law told Liz that Carol has pneumonia. Beyond that we don't know anymore but will pass on any news if Liz hears from her nephew.

Oh no. Thanks for sharing and my prayers and well wishes are with CArol, for sure. I hope she can recover quickly and maybe even head up later. But more important than that is that she recovers!

Thanks for letting us know about this. Prayers going up for a speedy recovery for Carol. Boy, if it ain't batteries and hot water tanks it's feet and lungs....kind of worried that they put her in intensive care, tho, for pneumonia. If they're letting her out in 4 days it shouldn't be that serious...or is it 4 days in intensive care and then transfer to a regular ward?

We really don't know too many of the details as Carol didn't call us directly and had indicated yesterday that she thought she was better but pnemonia can hit pretty hard and I imagine her immune system was already busy fighting the cold. Liz remembered that Carol does have the Good Sam insurance to cover getting her rig back home, etc, if it comes to that. I can't imagine her feeling like driving anything anywhere.... Liz made sure Carol's son was aware that she did have that coverage. I am sure Liz will fill us in on any updates as Glen fills her in.

That is too bad. Hope she is feeling better soon. Better that it happened in the lower 48 than way up in Canada or Alaska somewhere!
