Wyoming still...and about Herschel

On more night in Wyoming and we are heading to Montana tomorrow. The weather forecast is for snow in northern Montana so we might not go too far and then hunker down and let the weather blow.

Peaches and I are crying here - she says she hopes Herschel will get to visit with her here in Valdez. He's such a wonderful dog. I remember so well my last couple years on the road with Tips - and believing that his life was extended by the journeys we were taking. I know that Herschel is so happy with you and seeing all these sights. Big hugs to you all.

(I don't know why I can't post to most blogspot blogs. Frustrating - can do it through my business acct and no one would know who was posting. Oh well. Glad I can here.)

enjoyed the blog but did not enjoy the news on Hershel. Life is what it is but that never makes it easier.

I think Herschel is living his life exactly the way he would want to--traveling on the short bus with his mom.

Looks like handsome Herschel found another great substitute "mom". He's still enjoying the travels.

Tina, I have been so enjoying your blog! The places you are getting a chance to see, and your commentaries are great!
I am terribly sorry to hear about Herschel, but I think you are giving him the best gift he could get right now. He loves to travel and be with his Mom and all of his "Aunts". He will forever cherish your time together.

It took me heading out on the trip to realize how much hearing Herschel has lost. It explains some of his behavior at home. Here I notice it late at night in the deserted places when I take him out for the last potty of the night...usually it was off lead. Well he can't hear me now and he potties and then makes a beeline to Maggie's (carols) rig or over to Liz's ..... he doesn't care what time it is or that his friends might be asleep.... he wants to visit! :)

Maybe they have better treats? Just sayin'... :D He might be better off heading to Mitch's, I hear she has bacon.

My heart goes out to you and Hershel. I think my main reason for coming off the road was that Buddy could no longer get in and out of the rig. His back end is pretty weak and he has arthritis in a front shoulder. That said, he's still a pretty happy dog. He can still get up on my low platform bed and he enjoys laying on the front porch watching the world go by. I take Sophie for a walk then take Buddy for his "long" walk across the street to a grassy area. He's pooped when we come back but he's a happy dog. I know Herschel is happy just to be with you and I'm sure Liz enjoys her walking companion, too.

Beth, I can't post on the blog either.

Oh Tina, I am so sorry about Herschel. I agree with Colleen, I think he is living his life the way he loves best, sharing his companionship with his friends. The Co Pilot seat will always remain Herschels.

I am so sorry to hear the news about Herschel. Hugs from me and licks from Nicky. Herschel has a large fan club here and at home and all are wishing him the best.
We are facing record breaking highs pushing 100 all weekend so seems strange to read about you delaying due to snow forecast.
Thanks for taking us along on your trip.

This might be Herschel's last journey but with his mom, and all the others who love him so what greater climax to a life full of adventure and love. I loved the pic of Liz and Herschel, a real keeper!
