Rolling Up the Awning & Saying Good Bye

Postby HorizonSeeker » Thu May 03, 2012 7:23 pm

I can't belive it but 6 months have come and gone and tomorrow I pull out of my little south GA home. I kind of feel sad but at the same time I'm excited to head for new adventures. OK, one bad thing about sitting still so long is that I forget how to get my things together. Yesterday I decided to go ahead and pull in the slide which might help my a/c cool the place down better as the afternoons here are really hot and I have a very sunny site. Been too long and I forgot to do a walk around before I hit that button. Went outside to take the garbage and on the way back noticed something didn't look right. Yep, my water hose was pinched in the slide. Had to put the slide back out, take my hose out which was a little pinched but seemed to still be working OK, and then pull the slide back in. Ugh.... I hate being old and forgetting stuff. Next question, after all you veterans finish laughing at me (and I do carry a spare water hose). Any tips on cleaning bird poop stains off the roof? I was up there this morning cleaning off leaves and twigs and just generally wiping things down and checking things out. I had several little purple presents from the local mockingbirds. My gentle cleaner took off the blob but left a browninsh stain and now there are several there. Any ideas?

she gets on the roof??? wow I'm impressed!!! I've never been up that that is DH's job and now that he abdicating his job's
will pawn if off on someone else ...but it's on the roof and unless it will compromise the material the roof is made out of
then no one is going to see it but the lucky person who goes up on the roof
good luck though I've always had good luck with Greased Lighting but would test the material first...

Mix up a little baking soda and vinegar into a paste, or just sprinkle on the baking soda and spray till it bubbles a bit with vinegar, then scrub with something that won't hurt the finish, like those scrubs for teflon.

Soos, I get Awesome from the Family Dollar store or Dollar Tree. You need to dilute it, but the instructions are on the side. It's great stuff.

Recommend that you check your owner's manual for recommended cleaners for the roof. Wouldn't want to screw it up by using a cleaner that would harm the roof for a little stain.
