I am baffled by my GPS. Does anyone know how I see the route my Garmin has decided I should follow? I would like to know if it is at least taking me in the right direction

The route should be highlighted in purple. And you should be able to go into Settings or Tools and get turn by turn directions.

BJ, if it's like mine, after you've put in your destination, and it has calculated the route, touch the green (I think) bar that goes across the top.
A new screen will pop up with all the directions to the destination. Down at the bottom, there's a bar that says SHOW MAP. If you press that, it will show your entire route on the map screen.

Thanks Maggie and Mitch, didn't find anything in settings and no bar of any color to press
I printed my route from Mapquest and only concerned about going though Nashville, I want to take the Briley Parkway to hook up to 40 so guess it will just scream recalculating if I don't go where she wants.

Have you tried searching youtube for any demo videos on your particular model Garmin?
