To those of you with iPads and blogs, can/do you upload photos and commentary to your blogs from the iPad?
I'm just realizing I won't be able to upload to my website from the iPad and will the be at the mercy of wi-fi.

Mitch,
As long as your photos are in your iPad, you should be able to upload them to your blog. I can post to my blog from my iPad, but I don't have any photos in my iPad at this time. I have them in my iPhone. Since right now, I only post to my blog from my PC or laptop, I haven't tried. I am supposed to be able to post photos from my iPhone to my blog according to the info on Google.
Hope this helps.
Dawn

Use Picasa and post the pictures to the Picasa web. Then they will be out there on the cloud and you can post them in your blog.

Picasa is tied into Blogger so it's easy if you use it for a blog (those blogs that have blogspot in the url)

Hey Mitch! Not sure where you are with this but will say how I plan to post to my blog from my (wifi only) iPad 2......
Apple has a neat little gadget called a 'Camera Connection' for about $30; it will take either the cable from your camera or the sd card.
When connected, iPad automatically opens Photos where I can save my images. Not sure about editing!
At that point I will open my blog on net (via wifi) and create a post using images saved on iPad. Don't know for sure how to access Photos from blog as I haven't done it yet!
I'm hoping to pick up the Camera Connection later this week. And will be looking forward to posts from you about whatever you learn about this process and want to share! Good luck!
(p.s. I think Piscasa is a great too too, I don't use it because of connectivity issues at home, need to manipulate images off line!)

Diana--Picasa is a program you download onto your computer. You have the option to load the photos up to Picasa Web albums if you want to but don't have too.

I'm not much of a "blogger". I was just hoping to post pictures for friends and relatives (with just a little narrative) on the AK trip.
I do my web page (which is currently in a sad state of disrepair) with a program called Serif (x2). I can't figure out how to get the pictures and narrative uploaded to our web page without using Serif.
I think I might be willing to start over from scratch if I could find a SIMPLE web design program for iPad. Nothing I came up with in the last couple of days fit the bill.

I use my macBook to upload pics to my blog, not my iPad.

I couldn't figure out how to edit my existing webpage from the iPad (using 3G), so I decided to start a blog for the AK trip.
Seems an easy enough solution (said the inexperienced fool...).

The last time I was working with photos on my iPad, I couldn't DELETE pictures I didn't want there. After that experience, I haven't done any photo work on the iPad. Anyone have that problem? Now I just use my iPad for checking emails and getting on the Internet when I'm not at my laptop. I really need to go to the Apple store and get some suggestions!!

If you uploaded them from your laptop, you can only delete them from your laptop. They will be gone from your iPad the next time you sync.
If you take the pics with your iPad, you can delete them from your iPad.

There is an iPhone app which would probably work on an iPad, from Picasa that allows you to upload pictures directly from the phone to Picasa Web albums and then you can get them from any web-connected device. You can also view any of your albums that you have already uploaded. You should be able to access blogger (google's blog) from Safari on your iPad and then if your pictures are in Picasa you can put them in your posts. You will need a 3G or wifi connection.
On my PC I have Windows Live Writer and I have my blogs linked to it and I can write posts when I'm without internet and then post them all when I get internet service. It's great because I can blog as I go and then it's real fast when I get a connection and I never miss a day of my trip! You can add pictures to post if they are on your computer and they will post with the blog post. Frequently I upload pictures to picasa and then link to the album, that way I've backed up my pictures on the web in case the computer bites the dust!
