This is a picture of actual hummingbird eggs. We were camping in a family members driveway and kept watching a hummingbird enter and exit a bush -and sometimes even coming to say hi through the window of the RV. So one day I carefully looked in the bush and found this! what a treasure. I didn't want to disturb the nest so I didn't try to put a penny or dime close to it for size comparison. Let's just say the eggs were smaller than a jelly belly.

Great picture. And having seen3 hummingbird nests recently after never having seen one before in my life - all so small, I can just imagine the size of the eggs.

So neat. Great picture.

@ Sheila, The leaves on the bush were about 1 1/2" long. It wasn't a tree. That will give you some perspective. (now why didn't I think of that before? )

Great pic. Thanks for sharing. I see Humming birds all the time around my Hibiscus tree but have never seen a nest.

How sweet! I think I'll start snooping around to see some. I'm still waiting for them to come to my feeders. One year I was obsessed and put out about a dozen feeders. In July they really starting coming in flocks, was so much fun but alot of work, not to mention the sugar cost

We used to have humminbirds up at our cottage, but I could never find any nests, even though I followed them into pine trees and bushes.

Amazing how small they are and how lucky you were to not only find one but be able to take photos!
