That was fun, Beth. I really enjoyed learning about the "living desert". So amazing!

I have heard that that is an awesome place to visit!
Black bears do come in brown colors too. Loved the otters. I can watch them play all day! Probably why I love ferrets so much since they are in the same family. Also love prairie dogs! They are so cute and very affectionate towards each other. Cute to watch! Hard to believe the javalinas can run that fast! They seem so cumbersome.
I was in Arizona one spring and all the cactus's were in bloom! It was beautiful! Even the sajuaros (sp?) were all blooming. Amazing the colors that show up in the spring in the desert!
I have been to several raptor shows at different zoos and they are all very amazing. Birds are very smart!
Thanks for sharing!

great pictures Beth, that parrot was a mexican something parrot, local to the area, saw a bunch of those at the Phoenix Zoo some years back.
Thats when I found out they were a local parrot, who'd a thunk it
Wish I remembered more details about it.

A desert parrot?? Aren't they usually in wetter climates like the Amazon?

I love this camera. It's getting old, and I have a newer and supposedly better version that has a better zoom, etc - but just keep using this one all the time. And probably will till it dies. It's a Kodak EasyShare Z1012 IS. This one is lightweight, but the "better" one is even lighter weight. In getting it that way, I think they took away some of the quality - but will start using it more, and maybe I'll get past that.

Beth, thanks for the info on your camera, I'm sort of 'looking' and will certainly check that out. Sort of remembering that Kodak had some problems recently and part of the company folded (I think) but it seems like they were going to focus on what they are really good at----hopefully that was their cameras.

I absolutely loved these posts, Beth. I sure wish I had been there with you, but will remember that place for when I do get there. Getting serious hitch-itch here in Florida.

Loved your pics. I am putting this on my list of places I want to see when I do get on the road in the future. This is the kind of place Chuck and I always liked in our travels. It reminded me of a place we went to just outside of Colorado Springs, CO.
I enjoy traveling with you through your pics.

Liz, how are you enjoying your "big" rig? Will you be towing? I've got the same itch as you. I will be heading to upstate NY for the summer. Staying at my sister's property. Dying to go to Alaska with the gals but the job will not allow it.
