We used the old stand-by brand egg coloring kits and this year we had to let the eggs sit in the color for at least 15 mins in order for them to dye! And the lighter colors like yellow and pink? Almost no color at all. Very disappointed, but still fun to do with my GDs.

I had a friend who used to do Ukranian eggs with the wax and dyes. They were beautiful! She was very talented. Those are done on empty egg shells tho, so they didn't go bad.
