Enjoyed your posts as usual. Is the Amistad cg part of the NP there? I stayed at Seminole Canyon but just drove through Amistad. For some reason, I had completely missed it in my "research". Where are you heading next?

I had a friend who lived in Corpus for several years. Those were the days I would take off after work just to spend a weekend then drive straight back just in time to go to work...not anymore! We always spent time at the beach of course. Thanks for sharing with us!

A washed up jelly fish. Sorry thought I had labeled that one. Bad me. Lots wash up - different kinds on different days.

Beth - You have a great gift for finding such interesting places! Thanks for sharing them with you photos.
Went back to catch up on older blog posts; I really like the campground where you plan to winter too.

Kellie, Amistad is the Amistand National Rec Area - which includes 3 cg's - not anywhere near each other. One is $8/night, the other 2 are $4/night - without the senior pass. 1/2 price with it. I stayed at one of the $4 areas, and checked out the $8 area - liked where I was better. But not everyone would. One of them will only take rigs to 28 feet, which I don't have to consider. Where I was, size wouldn't have mattered - would handle any. Biggest downfall was the low water level - but hey, that happens. And with all the clouds and wind, I wasn't getting my kayak out anyway.
