First Showing Tomorrow

Postby JudyJB » Mon Feb 27, 2012 11:58 pm

Just signed a listing, and now have my first condo showing tomorrow. I was worried I might not sell it soon enough. Now I am worried I might sell it too soon!!

Biggest worry is not getting what I want for it.

Coworkers have suggested places for me to live in case it sells before I can retire in June: under my desk at work, in a "communication room" that is equipped with sofas, and in the building parking lot in an RV, which I know they won't allow.

It is going to be a real pain keeping this place clean and neat while it is being shown over the next few months. Will be glad when it is over.

Two showings today and another tomorrow! Hope this means I will get what I want from this sale.

Been checking into alternatives for living if it sells faster than I can retire and get a motorhome. A friend at work has bought a new house and will have her old one available for rent in a couple of months, so that is one option.

Whew! Exciting week so far.

Another option might be "corporate apartments". They're fully furnished, including linens and kitchenware, phone, cable, and no lease. It's a month-to-month.

Good luck on your showings!

Oh, Judy, I hope you get your asking price, or so close that it is doable for you. That would be so cool. Another thing to consider is the 'by the week motel'. They do everything just like other motels, but they rent by the week. In San Antonio it was $205, the last time I passed by one. But your "stuff" has to be ready for storage or gone!!!!

I am thrilled for you and you must be so excited.

I've talked to my son, and if it sells before I can retire in June, I will pack everything up for storage and get it moved down to Ohio near him. If I don't have an RV by then, I'll stuff my stuff for that into my minivan and into wherever I decide to stay for a few weeks.

My coworker is moving out of her home and leaving all of her appliances and a dining room table. I have an old serviceable mattress in the basement I can crash on and then all I need is my recliner to move in and some kitchen stuff and a tv. She will not charge me much because she is planning on renting it to someone anyway, and I can pay by the week. Other option is a long stay motel.

Hope I can get my motorhome by then and just move in. I hate to move twice. Maybe I can stay in her driveway and hook up to electric. Not many campgrounds near Detroit!!

Or maybe I'll just quit work early and move down to Ohio. So much to worry about. I am exhausted from last weekend trying to get this place ready, so don't need more worry.
