Good news, bad news

Postby Liz » Mon Feb 27, 2012 11:25 pm

The good news is I only have a cracked rib, and I did not get it dancing around the campfire. I will have a campfire story to tell though. The other good news is that the sisters on this forum are the best friends you ever hope to have in good times or in bad. And of course God is great, and watches over me always.

So the bad news is that I was in a really bad accident today. A car coming toward me lost control, went off the road and then back on across the road to hit me head-on. Please pray for the mother and baby that were in that car. I think the baby was ok, but the mother was hurt bad. I believe my RV is totaled. My 3 angels, Birdie, Beth, and Connie have been with me all day....went to my rig to retrieve valuables while I was being checked out at the hostpital. Waited on me hand and foot. I'm going to see how long I can play that. I'm now resting comfortably, unless I move, in Connie's guest room bed. Simba is fine, but Bandit panicked and ran away. So we will try to lure him out of the bushes tomorrow.

Hopefully the insurance dealings will be done quickly and I can be shopping for my next RV.

It's good to hear from you directly and know you are okay. Bandit will be ready to find you tomorrow. You take it real easy tomorrow and know that all your friends are pulling for a quick recovery from this on all counts.

I have pictures of her rig - it's incredible that she is fine. Well, she'll be very sore for awhile, but overall fine. Pics are off the camera - but the storage device I put them on is in Conni's house and I'm out in my rig. I'm very glad to have been able to help - but mostly so very happy that Liz, after several hours at the hospital, checked out in such good shape. We will keep an eye on her. She's supposed to take it easy - ha - you know she says she'll try to milk the sympathy, but already she was going to do too much tonight. Tomorrow will be another long day - emptying out her rig. So very glad Liz isn't a pack rat. And so hoping we'll be able to find Bandit.

Oh Liz, I hate to hear your bad news but glad you are ok. Broken ribs are no fun, I have been through many with my DH. Hope you can find Bandit, I know he is afraid without you. Hope you don't have any trouble with the insurance company. At least you are where you will have lots of help shopping. lol

It is incredible you came out of this so well considering it was a head-on collision. So very glad you are OK. I am sure Bandit will be back with you soon. Will pray for your recovery and the mother and baby in the other vehicle.

I certainly didn't expect to read this terrible news tonight I will keep the mother and baby lifted in prayer, and praise God you weren't hurt worse and will recover with the help of Birdie, Beth and Conni.
I am glad Simba is ok and hope Bandit will be found safely tomorrow.
Get some rest, dear friend.

OMG Liz, thank God you are still with us! I'm just knocked for a loop, a loss of words, so very sorry. I pray for your speedy recovery, along with the driver & her baby. I pray for Bandit to be safe tonight & found tomorrow, that things go smoothly with insurance & replacing your home. I'm in shock, I can't even imagine what you're going through or even Birdie if she had to watch it happen. Please take care of yourself!

What a terrible scare! How lucky you were to have friends nearby. Head-on collisions are very scary. I was in one many years ago with my dog, and a kind lady took her to the vet for me while I was taken to the hospital. I was always thankful for that and that I was not hurt seriously. Hopefully they will find Bandit.

Liz, just now reading this...
Prayers are going out to all of you, and thanks that you are in fairly good shape, considering.
So happy to know there are some many friends there with you to help.
Cracked ribs are no fun, but we all know how tough you are, bless you girl!
I'm not lost, I'm on an adventure!

OMG Liz!!! I am SO sorry to hear this!! How scary! So glad you are OK. I hope the mom and baby will be OK too. And am praying you can find Bandit soon. He must be terrified!
You are very fortunate to have the gals there to help you with everything! What a great family we have here!

I am just shocked to hear all this...but it could have been much, much worse...

Take care of yourself and let the gals do what they are doing to take care of things for you.

Liz I am so glad to hear you are okay, of course except when you laugh. Pray that you will find bandit safe today. Know both Bandit and Simba as well as you were scared when all this was going on. I pray the mother and baby will be okay. Back to shopping for a rig, hope you find exactly what you would like to have. God indeed was holding your hand through this and I know he will continue as you heal and get things back in order. Now behave and don't overdo.

Liz -
Thank God that you are okay. Lots of prayers for you and the mother and baby. Hope they can find Bandit today. I'm sure he is terrified and will be anxious to be back in your care.
It is so awesome that you have 'family' members so close to help!
Good luck with finding your new 'home' soon.
