Great adventure, but I want to know while Beth was trying on hats, who tried on that hula outfit behind her?

Don't tell them at Algodona's about the 25 cent we don't have to pay that here...the last time I went down we had absolutely no line coming out

Now you've had a taste of Mexico -come down and join us for a week = Mazatlan is wonderful - you can come here - through Arizona - not Texas - stay a week and still have time to get to Alaska - it would be fun.

I really love noodling thru the small shops in Mx, you just never know what you'll find...and yes, Beth looks great in a hat!

The last time I went to Mexico we went to Progreso. My neighbor has long red hair and the kids selling bows wouldn't leave her alone. You could see the mothers across the street signaling to the kids. She told one little girl no and the girl pinched her and ran off. If you could look at something without being swarmed I might would have bought something. Not my kind of shopping.

Great pix Liz = thanks for sharing.

Beth, I love your butterfly shirt and the hat that you tried on too. Did you get the shirt near Niagara Falls??

Martha, I've never had any of them be pushy - just there. All I have to do is shake my head and they walk on. Me who hates shopping, loves this - and fairs with all the goods in the US. Can't figure me out lol

Linda, that shirt was a gift, so no idea where the person got it :)

We went across at Reynosa after my grandmother's funeral as a huge group - all family - to go eat. One little boy came up to my uncle and instead of trying to sell "cheeclets" (chiclets gum) like they did, the little boy asked my uncle "Meester, you want to buy my mother - she's a virgin!" No lie!!! Of course this was 30 years ago. I'm not sure I would want to cross into Reynosa now.

I wouldn't go near Reynosa now - that is one of the really dangerous border towns.

I did get my blog updates - so have more pics of us :) http://ontheroadwithbeth.com/blog/2012/02/16/progreso/

And for those interested, go to the blog post before that - you can see the quilt my sister made and sent me,
