back to the land of the living normal

Its been a busy day, got caught up on a few things but lots more yet to do. I quit my weekend job today.
They were mad but I've been fussing about the schedule for a month now and the manager had the nerve
to say they could have fixed it. What did she think all my fussing was about? When she sent me to discuss
it with the head boss and he said "you're part time and you'll take what you get " thats what I've been
tossing around in my head now for the whole month. The new schedule came out last weekend and
she had me scheduled the same for the entire month. My schedule all year was giving me 300 extra
dollars (2Xmonthly) plus the great tips and then the minor schedule change minus the Friday, put me at 200
(2Xmonthly) and then the MAJOR schedule change made my checks drop down to 100 (2X) with very little
tips. They scheduled me into the slowest times of the day. Wasn't worth my time to give up all my personal
"take care of me and family" time for that extra little paycheck. It was driving me nuts not getting my
stuff done. I'll certainly notice the loss in even that 100 but my health will get back to normal and I'll
be back to a normal routine in no time. But I will survive. I did gain an extra hour at the school district,
so that will make up for it somewhat.
Now I get to spend the rest of the week wondering what surprise my daughter has for me next Friday.
She told me to take the day off, that it would be fun and wear jeans. I'm hoping its a spa day but I
know for sure the evening calls for dinner with the grandsons and son. I can hardly wait :D

I'm glad you have been able to see yourself get out of the hole. And if now you're ready to enjoy life some without all those extra hours, you go, girl! Hope the time next Friday is wonderful.

Why is it, that some bosses never seem to have a clue??? They always screw around with the best employees. The ones that are always on time and that do the best job for them!!!

So glad that the quitting has a silver lining as in having some extra time for "you" time tho!!!

I have no doubt that if you want or need that you will find something even better! I have confidence in you.

Ava, I agree with the others that this is a good move on your part. You've been missed here and I'm looking forward to hearing from you here more often.

thank you all, can't believe how good it feels to get my chores done without that "hurry up, cause ya gotta get ready for work" feeling.
On top of all that, I'll be rested on Monday mornings now. :D Yes, the debt is totally manageable now and in fact could pay the car
off if I did double payments for a few months, and of course with the rv payoff right behind that one means it too could be paid off
early once the car is paid off. Once all that is done I can set it back up and be home again. I did buy my new sewing machine last
week, bought one with the rv in mind, a little one by Singer called Quikfix. Does just what I need it to do with no ultra fancy smancy
things I won't use. Quilts and curtains, thats all I need. :D

Ava, I think some bosses take advantage of the best workers because they believe the worker is so desperate for a job that they are afraid to make a mistake and get fired. And then they are surprised when the person quits. Duh! Good for you!

Ava, glad to hear that. An extra $100 isn't worth the hassle sometimes. You health and personal life say a lot more. And as they say, when one door closes another one opens. Glad you are back. Missed your posts.

Congrats Ava. You did what you had to do! Now you don't. Too bad they didn't treat you better, especially after you bailed out their butts so many times. I know that you will do well now that you have gotten ahead of the cents of these things. We will be glad to see and hear from you often.

Enjoy your surprise with your daughter and dinner with your son and gs. Let us know about your surprise.

I am sure the critters will be happy to have more time with you too!
What is the occasion for your special outing? Birthday?

I agree that sometimes the money isn't worth the stress and hassle! Your mental and physical health are more important!
