Cell Phone and Data Card Booster

This is long, so if you don't need no silly booster (not you Mitch, we know you need one) just pass this up.
Amazon has the 815226 (Sleek) for $81.35. You would need, probably, the Home/Office accessory kit for $25. That gives you the 110v plug that you will need. This is a whale of a deal. I bought mine for closer to $300. It is a little different, but the Sleek wasn’t yet available when I bought mine. Best Buy has the unit like mine, 805221, for 218.00 and you would need the $25 accessory kit on top of that. Amazon also has another booster of Wilson’s, but it is pricier.
In the Home Accessory Kit, price $25-30, the only thing you actually need is the AC adapter. And if you have a universal adapter that will fit and not blow it up you don’t need that item. I didn’t want to risk blowing the new toy.
This may or may NOT work with 4G. If you are 4G user better check it out further. There are some systems this will NOT work with iDEN and Nextel, you would know who you are. If you have ATnT or Verizon it works. Anything else, I’d go to the Wilson site and look it up - don’t find an answer, call them. I dealt with a vendor at the Fleetwood Rally and he worked out what I would need.
If you have a smart phone, double check that it will work for you - either the information from Wilson or your reseller should know.
It changes my cell signal at Potters Creek from 1 and 2 bars to 3 and 4 (which by the way this isn’t the power to the tower, but the quality of the signal). On my Data Card it moves it from -91 to as much as -73 (right now) but I have had it go to -69 (lower is better). Moves data much quicker.
I am changing from ATnT for data (internet) to Millenicom. I haven’t installed the software yet. But will work on that project this weekend or next week. It is a “no contract” kind of deal. It appears that they have much the same service as other carriers and I liked the deal better. For those of you needing 20 GB data movement, take a look at it. They also have an unlimited. But it is “non commercial”, private use only.
So….go research what is best for you and jump on it and shout for joy. See www.wilsonelectronics.com and http://www.phonedog.com/carriers/. PhoneDog has great information.
Okay, that’s it. Fire away!!
