Where's Liz? Remembering Roe

Roe and I took one more journey together today. I carried him in because he couldn't walk. I hugged him and he wagged his tail. Then he went on ahead. He always did want to be first. He'd want you to smile as you remember him with me.

Good boy, Roe.

Give Brandy a tail wag for me, okay? We'll all catch up with you two later.

Oh Liz, I am so sorry. I have tears running down my face right now as I write this. That was a wonderful tribute to wrote to Roe and I'm sure it was one of the hardest things you have done. There isn't much any one can say at a time like this as those of us who have lost beloved pets of our own, know that the hurt in our heart takes time to heal. But I thin it was wonderful that you and Roe took one more walk together and it helped him on his way. allthough I never met Roe, I know that he had to be one of the happiest dogs allve being with you. The places he went and the things he saw and did are only dreams for many dogs. So many spend their lives in kennels or in fenced yards and never see anything beyond that.

He's up at Rainbow Bridge now and running free, free from pain and sickness and cares and worries and will be waiting patiently for that day when you two can again, walk the trails of heaven together. Take care my friend.

Liz that was beautifully done. Roe was such a sweet dog, he had a way of touching the people around him. He also allowed Bear to sit on him, crawl on him and take his bed and never fussed. Of course Bear in turned always shared his food. You are in my thoughts and prayers, I am here if you need me.

Awh, I got tears in my eyes when I saw the title of the thread. What a lucky dog Roe was to see and do all he did. What am awesome responsibility we are given when we take these pets into our lives, to decide when its best for them to let them go. Goodbye Roe, GOOD BOY!

Liz, I'm so sorry. I can't read your blog right now (too emotional), but Vickie told me earlier tonight.
My heart goes out to you.

Like the others have said, I read it with a smile & tears both. It's never easy to say goodbye to our loved ones, no matter how many legs they have. Hug Bandit & get comfort together.
