And The Sad News Continues...

Man, this group just keeps getting bad news and more bad news.

Here's a little George update:

He's back in the hospital for "failure to thrive" and he's having a feeding tube put in this morning...he's down to around 120 pounds - just skin laying over bones. Hospitalist gives him around five months, give or take. It's a sad sad time in NW TN.

Please don't respond...I know you care (more than I deserve). Just keep up the prayers for his gaining enough strength to make it home for a while, or a peaceful, painless passing into God's arms. I'm running on empty and reading your messages of care and love makes me cry...

I love you guys, maybe even You-Know-Who a little bit! Okay, so fine - she's the best Doofus Friend a person could have. Don't tell her I said so.

9 weeks and still counting.

You're not the boss of Me!

I'm hoping that with nutrition G will be able to spend some time at home. I wish we still had Ronnie's hospital bed, I'd bring it to ya, but I know that organizations like VFW have beds, wheelchairs, etc. that they loan out. I'm glad you posted, Lub Ya!

OK, so I'll admit it, I called Vickie a while ago to check on you since I hadn't heard or seen anything here or on FB, even tho you're a PITA. Been there, done that and my heart goes out to you, MF. Stay strong and sending prayers and good thoughts that your love gets to come home. And yes, we have had more than our share of bad news lately and it's time for the insanity to stop!

And as far as you deserving us, you're probably right, but we already adopted you before we knew the "real" you, so guess we're just stuck with you, and we're gonna have to keep you. sigh.

Love you, GF! If you need me there, for whatever, I can change plans and head NE to Tn. Just let me know.

Well, when you signed up with us you didn't get to make the rules. So here I am, adding my 2 bits' worth also.

I'm so sorry that this is such a long process. Been there with my mom & toward the end us kids were just wanting it to be over -- for everyone's sake.

Mitch, if George can qualify for hospice you might be able to take him home. Please ask the hospital about that. It might be the best thing for both of you. He'd get the care he needs AND you'd get some support, too.

So there. That's my opinion. Along with some prayers. And hugs.

Love you Mitch...

I understand everyone wants to respond and support Mitch. She understands also. But reading the responses just now just makes her cry more - so she has asked me to lock the thread. I am going to respect her wishes, and do that now. She hopes everyone understands - and as she posted now - will keep everyone up-to-date, either herself or via her favorite pest.
