Building a Patio

Well, I CAN do it! Not sure how often I want to - as I discovered muscles I haven't used in a while - but yesterday and today, I extended my patio here 3'4" x 8' . Unfortunately, I forgot to take before pics, but after I was underway yesterday I thought to get my camera out and take pictures then - and now today after I finished laying the tile and putting back down some sod - so here goes:
The first pic shows after I had to remove a bunch of small tiles - they were in the space above the newly laid ones. (They were not joined to the patio - just out there by themselves. I'm guessing someone put them there because they had their door open there at one time) So I took those little tiles out - and started laying the 16 x 16 tiles that were given to me (I was given 11 of them, so would use them for most, then would have to use the 8 x16 for the last square and the row above them:
Another view:
OK, today I finished, moved all the loose dirt out back and spread it around - laid sod that I pulled up into the area that I removed the smaller tiles from - and you'll notice that it looks muddy over much of the rest of the area above the newly laid bricks- but that's only because there's still dirt there that will be sinking in. TaDa:
And some other views:
I'm really impressed with myself - and if I can get some more 16x16 tiles, would consider adding another row. That finished result is two rows of 16 x 16, then a row of 8x16 sideways. But, I'm not going to put a lot of money into something not mine, so don't want to buy them. Now I have to decide if I want to put up a wall like I had on my last site (could actually move that one over). I'm kind of liking the openness, but I also like the privacy - decisions, decisions!
