Further adventures of Herschel dog

Hi there,

Have a couple of pictures to share. Seems traveling across WV is not conducive to posting pictures. And we might as well add the Lori and the Sultan's campground near Gettysburg in that same "no Verizon" service area. :) So After leaving KY we did find a beautiful COE park about ten miles off the interstate. The sky was gray but the water was very peaceful looking and inviting but the GHL said she didn't think that we would have time for any kayaking this stop.

The neighbors site sort of says it all. They were sitting out next to their camp fire pondering the view of the lake with their boat docked out in front of their site.

Look folks no dead battery at this stop!

From WV we headed on towards PA. As we headed out Monday morning it became apparent to the GHL just how close to Gettysburg we would be traveling and the Jello rule came into play. She called Lori and asked if it was alright to make an unannounced stop at the campsite next to the beautiful musical creek. Lori called as back and must have said okay because without her directions we might have been wandering around the hills outside of Gettysburg for awhile. There was a wonderful dinner complete with garlic bread and a glass of wine. Ooops, I guess that she should have taken the picture before the meal is consumed, but the hoomans were hungry.

Image

Remi was impressed with the pile of fire wood. He asked if the campfire on the forum had a pile that high and I assured him that yes it did. A never ending supply of wood.

The beautiful creek at our campsite.

And the next day Spinner shared his swimming hole with us. Remi declined to swim.

On Wednesday we headed out again to some place called Lake in Wood. Surprise! It is Peaches' campground. There she is! :)

Image

This place is very nice and we got some wonderful walks in. Seems that the GHL and Beth kept talking and walking and it worked out well for the three of us....Peaches, Remi and I.

During the day the hoomans took off in Beth's car and played tourist. They said they saw buggies and rolling farms and made a few stops and apparently ate too much at one of the stops because they felt the need to come back and walk and walk later this evening. Tomorrow Beth has to go back to work and we pack up and journey down to find the GHL's cousin's driveway somewhere outside of Annapolis. More trip details as I discover them. :D

Peaches and I are sure going to miss them. I added the few pics I took to my blog. Put the link in the gtg room, but, of course, you can always just go directly to my blog in my siggy, too.

Herschel, you sure have a great life! Love that peaceful looking campsite on the lake! Makes me miss that aspect of living in Minnesota.
Glad you are having such a great time!

Thanks for sharing the pics Herschel. Now wasn't it well worth the wait for the GHL to get everything together. Looking forward to more of your adventures. Linda

Awesome COE cg, Herschel, the GHL did a great job of finding it! Do you happen to know the name of it and where it's at? Maybe you could ask her to post it on the cg forum? Glad you got to play in Spinners swimming hole...he sure is generous with sharing it! And, you got to visit with Peaches! So far, looks like a great trip!

Am enjoying sharing your trip. Just keep reminding the GHL to keep the camera handy and post more photos as you move along. Are you going sight seeing in DC?
