Alive and well

I really need to post more often. I ended up buying an older mobile, 2bed-2ba. Got a great deal as its been empty for over a year and the niece who inherited it lives in AZ. Its in great shape BUT needs a lot of renovating and decorating to suit my tastes but that's what I LOVE to do. Will close on or before July 1st but since its empty I've been working on the yard. Had the inspection yesterday and overall its in great shape with upgraded plumbing and electrical. Only problems I ran into were the gas furnace is kaput so owner is going to have to get me a new one ($2,500)and there is some termite activity (welcome to Texas) which will cost me about $900. There is outside storage for my RV for $15 a month so my RV will be near. Am waiting to see what results Carole gets on her chemo and possible surgery. If good we might try and do a trip in September somewhere.

I've been so busy making lists and then lists of my lists. After three years of fulltiming I was ready to have a small yard again, emphasis on "small". Since I quit workamping I wasn't doing much traveling anyway. Its nice that my RV is close. Once I'm more settled I'm going to try and sell my 30' RV and get a smaller B.

Karen, I am so glad you checked in, I have been wondering about you, glad to hear all is well for you.
Sounds like you have things lined up just the way you want them. Good for you !!!.

I , too, hope that Carole is progressing in shedding that "C" stuff. Hope she is up to a trip with you in Sept.

Take care and I'm hoping all is settled soon and you can putter in that "small" yard.

Yyyeeessssss!!!!! Good for you. Sorry the new didn't work out, but there is a reason for it you know. Sounds like Carole is on schedule. Take a look at the GTG and see if you want to make a trip to Houston 5, 6th of July. Could meet Paulette and see Carole and get a new perspective on the new place. Just an idea.

Is this in the same place as you were looking or a different location?

So glad to hear from you....you've been MIA. And congratulations on the new home with small yard. Yes, we'll need pictures of all the decorating you will do. Prayers for a good outcome for Carole. Thanks for the update.

Thanks for checking in, Karen. We missed you.
I'm with Tina and others, we need well documented photos of the before/after progress on new home and grounds plus share excitement of the new rig shopping.
Give my regards to Carol. Hope the two of you can make a trip soon.

Here I was all ready to email you to find out what was happening, and I checked here first and you gave all the details. Great news - and if used, I bet you saved some money, and have more to personalize, etc. Can't wait to see pics, and hopefully to get there and see it in person. I'm so happy for you.

Please send my best and my hugs to Carole. I think about her often. It will be great if you two can take a trip in Sept.

CONGRATS, Karen! Can't wait to see some pics of you and your new rooted home! I am looking with great anticipation to see how this newer life style will pan out for you, including the trading down to a Class B type RV. After all, you were one of my main urger-onners for me to retire and take to the roads! Was wondering if you had dropped off the face of the earth when your first mobile deal fell through. Can't wait to hear/see your next chapter!

Happy travels!
