Oh this sounds fun! I'm going to use it as a bribe to myself, no reading of blogs until some more packing is done!

It is such a pleasure to go on these journeys with you and Nan via your camera...I am so grateful that you take the time to to show us.We would never get to see these types of sights and get the flavor of the land without you doing this for us. I just love it.

Do you think the possum, etc, is actually road kill, or is that all a joke? I am half inclined to believe it is real. If you get out on the road early in the morning and use discriminating taste you could find some critters that are fresh kill from the night....mmmm yum

Loved the photos of all the general stores. Made me want to buy something.

Loved the trip and would so love to be with you two! I wondered about the Potted Possum also, but when I got to the diced chicken lips I decided it was a joke. Loved the Killdeer and her eggs, they do put on a show to distract people from their nest. The BBQ looked wonderful, added to my desire to go on a BBQ search. The current June/July issue of Garden & Gun has a big feature article about the best BBQ places to eat in North Carolina, VA and other southern states. The picture you posted looks just like the one on their cover that has me drooling every time I see it! If you can't fine a copy of the magazine, PM me where you will be next I'll look to see if any are near.

I give you credit for bravery. After seeing the snake, I would be hot footing it back down the path; not photographing it!

Another great tour. Thanks, Liz.

On the chicken feet, both my grandmothers always used the feet to make broth (they do produce a very rich broth). My east TN grandmother wouldn't think of cooking a pot of beans without chicken feet for flavoring. We did not eat the feet and as a child I found them to be a pain to pick out of the beans.

Glad I am not the only one who knew that the chicken feet were cooked, thanks Sarah  ;)

What a great trip we are all on, you have done such a nice job Liz, as usual, of taking us all along.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the trip, along with everyone else. Some places I have recognized, so thats
nice for me too. You did zoom in on that snake didn't you? He was big  Loved the Liz Nuts :P

The highlights of my days have been your trip post, thank you so much !!!!!

Stay safe
CArol :)

Hi Liz,

I am enjoying your journey very much! The only thing I could do to make it better, would to be there in person. :D
