Project 333

This is a fun idea and maybe appropriate for rv gals or those of use trying to downsize some. I like that so many young women seem to be embracing this idea.
Love the dress; but a bit risky for me. Maybe the cozy wrap; they mentioned a pattern is available. All together a new and different outlook from our consumer culture!

Seems like years ago there was a chain of stores that sold knits like these. All their selections had several uses and looks. I'm with you Diana - this particular one is a bit risky for me. Couldn't tell you the last time I wore a dress!! LOL

I had something similiar, only with 2 jackets, 2 skirts and slacks.
I'm about 40 yrs passed wearing something like these.

For those of us in the blistering south, I think you would have to add sandels and shorts to Lenora's list--whether they look good or not!

Guess I'm the lone wolf here....I loved loved loved that black dress! Perfect for a cruise now that I'm limited on baggage. Target has it in red, too!!

I love the dress, and will have to check it out if/when I'm in a Target store. Problem? I have about 20 dresses now - find them so much more comfortable than jeans - but that's just me. And to get that one would have to give one up. That one is probably a tad fancier than I want - already have my "fancier" ones - that rarely get worn. Sandals and sundresses - all I'd wear if the weather and my jobs would cooperate.

I've tried those wrap clothes and I end up looking like I'm trying to wear a sack - tied up! However back in the day, there was a store called Units (1970's??). I loved their pieces, owned several and STILL have one of their tanks that I sometimes sleep in. How's that for longevity.

The dress would be darling on you gals! Like J, sorry to say, I would feel like a sack of potatoes!

But what really caught my interest on this site is the idea of reducing numbers; that idea could be applied to any 'style' of clothing. For me, of course, my stuff is casual. Days of work dressing (in the field or in the office) are thankfully long gone!

In that spirit I pulled out all my short sleeve T shirts. Here is the result, WAY too many!!!! (and this doesn't even count those several that are currently  too small to wear modestly!)

Image

The T shirts are the biggest collection; other types of clothing are more acceptable numbers, but still.....I want to pare down, maybe not to 33 items though!

Sort of like when I realized that my fine limp hair would never look like some of the pictures in the style books.....my body isn't the shape meant to be in those dresses. And what would hold up the "sisters" without their underwires.....

I am basically jeans, t-shirts, shorts and sweats. But I do have a pair of nice black pants and two fancy tops I can wear with the pants in case I have to go somewhere dressy. I do still have the street length dress I wore to my sons wedding 13 years ago. I think it's about time I got rid of it. I also still have the shoes. Have to get rid of those too. I haven't worn heels since that wedding.

But I do think Sharon should buy two of them...one in red, one in black. How many combinations could you make out of that?

Don't know but it sure would be fun playing! :D What a bargain at 30 bucks a dress! I won't buy a dress on-line, but when I get back from the high desert next week I'm going over to Tar-gay to see if they have them. They're jersey, so they can be rolled up and put in a suitcase and not wrinkle. Poifect!

Diana...you don't even want to see how many t-shirts I have...it's embarrasing.

Tina...there are ways to hold up the girls w/o a bra.... :D
