Beautiful pictures as usual. Some of those fences look like more of a suggestion for where the animals should be.

I think I would have enjoyed the Blue Ridge Parkway more if I had traveled it with you and Nan. I got my Golden Age Pass at the Shenandoah National Park.

Thanks for the fence lesson, Liz. We saw some of the snake rail fencing on our way back from AR yesterday, now I know!

Readytogo, you might be talking about the post I made a few days ago. I traveled the Skyline Drive from Front Royal. It runs into the Blue Ridge Parkway and I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway to Roanoke. The speed limit on the Skyline Drive is 35 and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 45. It would be a nice drive if it wouldn't be for the mountains. It is a constant up and down. There are many lookout places where you can view the valleys but after a few they all look alike. Just looking at a map there were a couple of places that I thought about cutting over to the Interstate but there were signs saying not to travel the road in a motorhome or pulling a trailer. I don't remember where this was. It is an interesting drive but I wouldn't try driving it as far as I did.

The very southern end has some narrow turns and low tunnels. We skipped that part. Martha was talking about some of the access roads coming on or off the parkway.
There's a huge 5th wheel in the cg this morning. If he can do it, Nan can. I've been the whole length of the Blue Ridge and Skyline Drive. Other than that southern section, Nan will be ok. You don't want to be in a hurry up here though. Where the speed limit is 45, I go about 35 and much of it in lower gear. Same will be true on the Skyline Drive.

We're staying here in this cg until after Memorial Day & will explore this area. Hiking trails to do.

Another great tour; enjoyed the fence lesson too. Favorite is the clogging; wish I could do that.
Good to know you and Nan will be staying off the highway over holiday weekend and taking advantage of such a beautiful location.

If only I could get those discounts soon. Not that I want to age, but I sure want the discounts.

Love reliving this ride Liz - so enjoying your posts.

Liz, love your posts! I, too, visited Mabry Mill either last summer or the year before. I was heading north up the highway and decided to detour up the BRP. That's how I found it. No boot stomping music, though.
