Talk about things changing in a second - The Driver is in the hospital with a MILD heart attack. Hadn't been feeling good for a couple of days - but no real heart like symptoms - even went to doc and had an EKG - it was fine. Then he got so sick -burping non stop and searing burning pain in upper chest - that we took him into town 25miles away to hospital - [he even let me drive - then I knew he was sick!] - any way blood tests showed that cardiac enzymes were up so they checked him in. Had a very intensive test yesterday and consenses is he will need bypass surgery - in next couple of weeks. so now we know that BUT he is still burping and with pain and doc says thats not to do with heart???? Hope they figure out what that is cause it is really bothering him.
At least for right now the weather is cooperating and staying dry. Since we moved here I've done very little driving as I hate these narrow winding roads, and I really don't like them at night - I'll take the LA. freeways any time. But guess I'd better get used to it. If it stays dry I'll pull my car out of the shed and start using it - but if it's raining will use Willie as he has better traction . Speaking of my car - it's a mustang convertabile 1998 - just got it registered here in Indiana $178.00 about fell over! First time registration is expensive - had to get new title too. But it is registered till Oct 2010 and got personilized plates MVNON 4 -
Well best get going 'fore he calls wondering where I am.
Bad month Daughter in Law died less than a month ago and would have been son John's 46 birthday this past Monday. ....... feeling sorry for myself I guess.
But #18 did win the truck race last night.

I am so sorry to hear of your husband's heart attack; I feel like I know you both. I will definately keep him in my prayers, as I am sure many of us will. And certainly you too, that you would be strong for both of you and safe as you come and go.

I can't understand why the doctor's say the burping isn't related...I managed geriatric medical clinics for several years and nausea, vomiting and gastrointestinal issues were very frequently related to heart attacks...EKG's are grossly inadequate in reading the full scale of heart rhythms, they are known to miss arhythmic activity that is beyond their scale...I am sorry that happened, but so good of you to get him into the hospital. Once he has his bypass he will be in very good shape.

Scary times for you, but we've got your back. Wish I was closer to give you a big ol' hug. DH had one of those mild heart attacks and it's scary as heck. Glad it was caught in time and can be fixed. SS you're down, I know the feeling, but as they say, this too shall pass. Chin up MF and carry on!

Oh Carol, so sorry to hear Bill is under the weather. Glad it was caught and is fixable. Hang in there, things will get better. Be thankful you were home and not in Mexico.

I'm so sorry to hear the news, but isn't it great that you listened to instincts and went to the hospital? Outcome might have been so different if you hadn't acted. Tough time for all of your family. Praying all goes well from here on.

Indeed, you are very fortunate for being back with good medicine...my prayers are with you at this time. You and driver will be taking many more trips to MX or wherever you choose. I hope you can feel somehow the comfort each of us can only give you with words in your and your son's loss and the time of remembrance of the son you lost. Our hearts go out to you and you husband. Keep us posted.

I'm really sorry to hear about The Driver. But he is (and will continue to be) in good hands. Get the bypass over with and he'll be right as rain, with a good and healthy diet and regular exercise.

Hope he'll be a good patient, for your sake! :)

Sorry to hear about "The Driver"s heart problem, but glad it was found and fixable with bypass surgery. Well, if you gotta drive something, that Mustang should make it all worthwhile. I had an '85 mustang convertible and loved it (except that clutch was a bear to push, although I did have a great left calf muscle  ). Will be thinking of you and keeping you and TD in my thoughts for a speedy recovery. carold

Yikes, got to be scary for you. Will keep you all and the doctors on the prayer list. Hopefully it will be minimally invasive and The Driver will be back out in a day or two. Hopefully they will get him in the cath lab pretty quickly.

Just drive slowly and carefully. It's all you can do. Yep Willie will be a good going to see The Driver car and The Driver will feel good cuz he knows you can do that real good. Keep us posted as you can.

Big, big hugs to you and Bill. So glad you caught the heart problem early. Get that bypass over and he'll feel right as rain - well, hopefully, they'll have already found what's causing the burping and got that over with also.

Wish I was there to hug you both in person - but know that you are in my heart and mind and prayers.

So sorry about Bill's health problems and the extra stress on you. I'm sure he will be as good as new soon and you will have more driving experience in that great little car.
Positive thoughts and big hugs on their way to both of you.
