Where oh where do I live?

Postby retiredhappy » Mon May 16, 2011 5:00 pm

Haven't been updating lately so here goes.

My rentors finally got out of my house. A week and $400 later I've got it repaired, cleaned and fixed up. Am in escrow which is supposed to close (hopefully) by Junes 1st. Am just waiting and sweating out the appraisal since property is all over the place around here. I was only paid up thru 6/15 so I moved my RV to my house and am plugged in and have water. The sewer hose is depositing my grey water into a flower bed but I am sleeping in the house (mostly because I get up several times at night). The dogs are totally confused. I think Buddy remembers the huge yard but he's more interested in the sofa in the RV with the AC going.

I've made an offer on a cute mobile in a senior park contingent on my house closing. They are looking for something to buy in the country and will make an offer contingent on me buying their house. What is it they say rolls downhill? The park has RV storage for $15 a month so will have my rig closeby. If the people I'm buying the mobile from don't find something by June 1st then I'll move back to the KOA until they do. When (and if) all the dust settles I will then look for a smaller rig for shorter trips. Am looking at older Class B's. I will be able to do a little gardening at the mobile which I have missed by fulltiming.

Anyway, this is my plan - IF NOTHING CHANGES OR GOES WRONG.

Good luck, Karen, and thanks for the update. Have been wondering what you decided about the mobile home park. It's fun to make changes and new decisions. And I know you enjoy decorating as well as the outside work. I think you'll like having roots and having an rv both. Hope so. And fingers and toes are crossed until closing on the house happens.

Good Luck Karen! Snowballs roll downhill! Can't imagine what else you'd refer to!  :o

I'm really interested to hear how it goes for you; the arrangement you're looking at is of interest to me as the long-term solution. I hope it all works out for you. Let us know how it goes...

Karen, I hope it all works out for you! Sounds like a perfect arrangement.
I'd certainly like something similar as I'm really done with all the outside upkeepl Takes up too much of what little summertime we have trying to keep the lawn mowed, moss/mold removed and pine needles/cones swept up, too.

I'll be tracking the news.... :) With less "house" and smaller wheels you may wander even more. :D You would develop whole new stories about finding ways and places to pull off the road and find potty relief   ...class B being smaller and all. :)

I'll be following your progress with interest, Karen. It sounds like a perfect solution for you! I know that I have the best of both worlds with a home on wheels and two homes in vastly different climates and geology, providing me with so many options that my head is spinning! And I really love my flowers down here almost as much as I love my wildflowers at home. My northern gardens require no watering or weeding or tending, whatsoever, and my southern gardens are small enough to allow me the feeling of getting dirty and caring for growing things.

Congrats on exploring your life and adjusting it to meet your needs!

So happy for you, Karen. Here's to everything moving forward without a hitch.
Have you started exploring which Class C you might want? I'm thinking you will enjoy traveling more with smaller rig.
