Something Nasoosie said

This is Nasoosie's very well-said response to a posting of mine "I too, have had very mixed feelings about wanting to experience nature by itself and just me, as I do at home on my own pond in my leanto, and then wishing I had someone there to share that wonderful communing with the natural world. I have discovered that most humans cannot really feel as I do, as much as I dream they can, and so, by their very presence with me, and my desperate attempts to 'make' them appreciate the experience, it sort of destroys the whole thing. It's just another example of the 'grass is always greener' type of thinking, and is an enigma for me. I really need to remind myself to be happy with just me, and perhaps, as you do, write about what I am doing as my way of sharing.

The above (in blue) is something I copied from another forum that both Nasoosie and I are on, she had written this response to one of my postings there...but that forum wasn't funcitoning right and I wanted to comment on what she said so perfectly so as to hopefully encourage others.

When I read her comments, and those of others, saying that as much as they yearn for someone special to be with them when they are seeing the beauty of nature it generally ends up frustrating and disappointing because that special someone doesn't "get it" "see it" or "feel it" as we do. It makes you feel compelled to "make" them feel it. But, they just don't; for whatever sad reason their spirit isn't renewed by the beauty before them. So, to enjoy it without the frustration creates a greater experience. I am always so encouraged and strengthened when I hear that others experience the same thing as I do. It just makes me feel so much better to know I am not alone in this. Aren't we the most fortunate people on earth to be moved and overjoyed at the beauty and experience of what we see.

So, it's not unlike the desire some women have to want a mate, to be in a marriage...when so very often it turns out quite unlike our dreams. I am so happy for people that have good relationships, but "the grass is greener..." is so often not the case. When I am encouraged by comments like Nasoosies' then being a single woman on my travels bodes well with my soul.

Lately I have been reflecting on past life experiences and have realized that I have spend much of my life enjoying "moments" of wonder by myself..... or in the company of dog/s. I have truly enjoyed finding kindred spirits on this forum. The ability to just "be" without having to explain the "wonder" is what kindred spirits share......just try a float back down the Silver River with Liz and Nan....or watching the ocean roll in with Sarah.......talking is not necessary...... :)
