Carolyn and Butte LaRose

Hello,

Just an update: I am sure most of you know where I live may be (most probably) start flooding within a couple of weeks. I will start moving at the end of the week and should be finish by the end of the weekend. My dad and I will be moving to Lafayette in my sister Kay's boyfriends home, which happens to be behind her home. He works in England and is gone for 5 to 6 weeks at a time and home for 2 weeks. When the water recedes, I will go home to access the damage. It could take weeks before that happens.

Please keep me and the residents of Butte LaRose in your prayers.

Thanks.

PS As soon as I get a chance, I will start uploading photos from the LA GTG.

Carolyn,
Please keep us updated as much as is possible. Can not imagine what ya'll are going thru right now.
Prayers are sent to everyone affected and hoping for the least amount of damage.
Guess we'll just have to send the "troops" back in the help out.
Let us know if there is anything we can do.
I'm not lost, I'm on an adventure!

Thanks for taking time out to keep us abreast of what's happening. I'm glad you and your dad have a place to retreat to during this time, and hope that all your neighbors stay safe. I'll keep updated thru the news and hopefully some of it will be good. carold

I know this is a very stressful time...I will keep you and your dad in my thoughts and prayers. This has been such a terrible spring for so many but these are the times we see true Americans come to the aid of their neighbor whether next door or next state.

I, too, am glad you have a safe place to go while awaiting the fate of your home.
I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing my home, especially if it was done intentionally.
Prayers continuing.

Hi to all,

Vicki, Ttanks for the flooding stage map.

New info: Last night at the community meeting we were told the flood crest will be 29" because they have gotten new data depicting after 38 years of silt buildup, it has been move up 2 feet. This info came from the NOAA office out of New Orleans. Not looking good at all.

Had a long day packing, had to purchase more totes. Will have another long day packing and moving lots of totes to Lafayette, which is about 30 minutes from my home. I gave the lady helping me loads of books, clothes and other stuff. She is going to bring the books to several nursing homes she visits and the other stuuf to a charitable organization. I am happy to see someone will get use of all that stuff. I had made up my mind I was not moving it! I have been up since about 4:00 and have another big pile of stuff for her to donate to someone. I am sure I will have more stuff I am going to give away. I have been wanting to do this since I moved back to my home in September. I had given a lot of stuff away then. Anyway, I am getting my To Do list accomplished. It is very overwhelming!

Please continue to pray for me and our community.
