He called us Saturday morning - Jeni died Friday night. One minute she was cooking dinner, said she didn't feel well then she was gone. Heart attack brought on by massive bleeding in the stomach. She was 55. Their fifth month anniversary would be this coming weekend.
When we saw them in Vegas they were so excited about finally getting married. They talked about how much they had in common and how they were each others best best friends.
They both loved the outdoors, fishing, desert hiking and small towns. They worked together managing a motel in a little high desert town in California.
She also had tremendous talent. We have a copper mobile she made us and a woven copper wall hanging. She did beautiful macrame with shells.
She will be missed.
I talked to him last night and his daughter is with him and they were on their way to visit our youngest son. Dennis said he had to get away for all the reminders for a little while. It is going to be a very hard transition for him. He said he remembers how long it took him to get past the worst when his brother died.
And feeling sorry for myself - John's birthday (our son who died) is coming up in a couple of weeks - so this is always a hard time of year for me.
